Since installing Service pack 2 I've been unable to run Eve I've re-installed the latest client. Anyone else installed sp2? Does all run well for you?

if you are using windows update.. and you have not updated your drivers; it will install crap generic drivers. goto the company's website who makes your card and get the newest original drivers.

No problems at all running SP2. Been running it for a couple of months now and never had any driver or Eve problems. Only problem I have had is with Media Player 10, but thats still Beta and its an MP problem, not Eve - although it does clash with Eve.

Yup, I've re-installed all the drivers.. as best I can, I thought it may be something to do with sp2's activation of my AMD64's "NX bit" but I've found threads with people with the same problem.. no solutions though! heheh

I think any version of Media player clashes with EVE.. anything touched by Microsoft is incompatable with anything touched by microsoft.

Try installing the latest drivers again, but do a driver purge beforehand - sometimes bits of older drivers get left behind and can cause problems.
You may want to look for the advised route to do this, but usually it involves full uninstall, clearing the registry of all g/card references and deleting all existing driver files. You can also use drivercleaner http://www.driverheaven.net to help delete the old files.
This may help if it is indeed a driver issue

ok i first installed sp2rc1 - that had no issues at all everything worked.
now have sp2 rc2 (also tried intermin builds) - ii get graphcis corruption which looks liek the d2d problme the other guy had.
this is on a clean slip streamed install with latest drivers for everything
abit AN7, radeon 9700 pro
as no other games have any problems at all i can only conclude it is an eve specific issue.

KalVirtus same problem as me, I've been speaking to ccp and microsoft and still no remedy.. so far the best advice I've recived is that sp2 installs directx 9.0c and is a beta driver and to downgrade to 9.0b dang.. gf is summoning me.. so check out articals 842729 and 839471 from the microsoft support site and sp2 faq sp2 faq pt2 I got another for downgrading to 9.0b but I've miss laid it.. please keep us posted.. I think this is a more common issue and a good solution would be well recievde.. especially by me.. g2g

Simple suggestion, why don't you both list your soundcard, vid and other relevent driver levels? Maybe a common denominator there that DX9c does not like Darwin 4tw

just incase anyone got the same problem SP2 can be uninstalled by running this
Quote: %windir%\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spuninst.exe
However it's not working on mine.. so maybe service pack 2 didn't install properly to begin with! so it's the dreaded roll back.. wish me luck

I've been running SP2 since the Beta (SP2's, not EVE's) and have had no issues. Well, none with the SP2 anyway. I have PLENTY of issues, like, the lag is so bad I can't actually play EVE right now.

Ive built more servers (Microsoft) for more years than ... well something with big numbers, but not quite older than NT .... , service pack un-installs have never worked in my experience - well apart from SQL6.5. Don't feel victimised If they did work, we would not need another license for our test servers and MS would of sold less server licenses/MSDN subscriptions.
Sadly, in this situation the quickest way for you to get back to the same laggy game we have is just to re-install XP. You obviously have some sort of driver clash and it may be some time before it gets resolved by the manufacturer of the as yet unkown faulty driver (yeap they get the blame by MS default).
Be lucky and best of luck to ya! Darwin 4tw

SP2 is still in release candidate, RC2 i believe, expect it to be buggy. Personally would not install it on my main machine, i use 3 test PC's for that sort of thing
