like a lot of people i run missions because they're a good source of income, can't pretend that i enjoy them and i was looking at the strategic map and realised that there's a COSMOS agent just a few jumps away from me. i've googled a bit but i can't seem to find much good information about COSMOS (although i'm sure there's loads and i just missed it) - so my question is, what's special about COSMOS missions and are they worth doing?
if so, does anyone have a good site they can recommend where i can find out more about them?

thank you - i guess my question is more, "are they fun or just more of the same?"
didn't know they weren't farmable (although that wasn't my intention), but thanks for letting me know about the ISK - what about loot? is there good COSMOS-specific loot?

The main benefit from COSMOS missions is a significant standing increase with the faction. The rewards are pretty good in terms of BPCs and whatnot, which you can sell or use. Many are one-time only (to the point where if they expire on you you can't get them again, so make sure you have everything you need before you start them), but some are repeatable (the ones where you can keep turning in tags for standing increase).
I've also found the information hard-to-come-by, but with enough digging you can piece some of this stuff together. Here are some sites:

You have to do a lot of them in the right order too, as they require rewards given from doing some of the missions. Some of the lvl 4s in caldari space require you to do stuff in low sec, and the system is a hang out for the likes of Idle Guns and other dirty pirates looking to pick on your rich pickings...These ones i personally didnt bother with. Its all about faction gain really, the occasional nice implant as a reward and a lot of old cosmos blueprint copies which require special skills and components to build, and are of debatable value. |

I've only recently started doing these and HOLY CRAP you get massive standings increases. They are all multi-part missions, they are not particularly difficult, many of them you can shortcut by just buying the items you need on contracts anyway.
And at the end of each one you get something around 20% standings increase for the relevant faction.
It's about 1/50th the effort of grinding standings via regular missions. Twenty percent is huge.

I only do cosmos now and again for fun but they are well worth it. Its something different, has nice story, funky plexes etc. The standing increases are excellent. The financial rewards are very random, it all depends which random bpc u get each time. For example i have had the 'pike' small emp smartbomb 3 times which is a small smartbomb marginally better than t2 which requires several expensive decrypters to build. This makes them pretty much worthess. On the other hand doing the same missions with another char i got a small rep and small nos bpcs which were worth it, as the don't require decrypters.
