for lv 3 and 4 missions which is better, i'm using a navy megathron. been shield tanking, but i see alot of people use armor tanking, how does that work exactly, just let them get though your shields and then tank with the armor?

Having no personal experience with gallente ships.
I do know from my corpmates that the majority if not all gallente ships perform better as armourtankers.
Either with 1 or 2 repairmodules , and yes you will let damage through your shields and let your armour take the beating , using Armour Repair Modules to regenerate.

oh i'm sorry, I didnt know selling GTCs was against the rules  didnt say 1s and 2s anyways. |

It is not against the rules, but real players who actually 'worked' for their money in game will look upon you as a cheater and someone who does not deserve to fly these shiney toys. Escpecially when you pair up your abundance of oog made ISK with a lack of ingame knowledge.
As for your question, I would not recommend shieldtanking a ship with more lows than meds if you are a n00b. In L1-3 it probably does not matter but in L4s it will.
That said, if you know what you are doing and favor a ganktank over a permatank, it is perfectly viable to shieldtank Megathrons against NPCs whose base damage is better resisted by the base resistances of shields rather than armor. I.e. Angels and Repfleet. On a Kronos a (deadspace) shieldtank also beats an armortank against Gallente Navy and Guristas, as it frees up your lows for damage mods and tracking enhancers. |
