I'm trying to probe out the DED complexes, but I'm unsure of what probes to use - do they show up as Magnetometric, or Unknown? |

Did you bother to do any research on how exploration works? Because if you had, you'd know that they're Unknown. |

Did you bother to do any research on how exploration works? Because if you had, you'd know that they're Unknown.
I thank you for your wonderfully constructive reply, and yes I did search about 30 pages of forums trying to find the information. All I've found is that COMBAT sites show up as unknown, but nothing that specifically says DED Complexes are included in this category. And after 5 hours of probing and finding 50+ combat sites that are not DED complexes, I thought that I might be doing something wrong. |

Make sure you are not scanning for anomalies. If you are already doing that you are doing everything right. In my experience about 1 in 3 unknown sites I find are DED sites. However, as long as it is a pirate site you have found (not drone) it is typically worth doing anyway. You have good odds of finding faction loot at the end and there is a chance the site will escalate. If you find a chain that escalates 4-5 times you will get great loot at the end of the last one (mix of complex and faction drops). |

My experiences are not the same. I'm of the opinion that it's not worth doing if it's not a DED site. The chance of escalation is small, and if it doesn't escalate, you get jack squat for your efforts. |
