I'm still wondering where my post is.
Since Ryan seems to think that threads shouldn't disappear (as do I), an answer would be nice.

I think you're confusing the CRs (forum guys) with GMs (the ingame guys). I don't think GMs lock thread or do any forum work, aside from the occasional post, such as the epic isk-buyer ownage replies a few months back.

You should re-read my original post, which concerns threadlocking, not thread deletion. If you think a thread has been erroneously deleted, please escalate the matter with the Community Team.

Read the letters under his name. Does it say Community Team or Dev Team?
Contrary to most peoples opinions, CCPs staff are not omnipotent and actually have different roles with varying responsibilities...

Can you tell me what the policy on thread deletion is?
I'm curious about the difference between 'thread hiding' and 'thread deletion' from a customer perspective.

The former means your opinions are still there to be seen and might still make a difference; the latter does not.

Every time someone adds to a topic thread that thread moves up in the list. As long as a thread is being actively posted to, it will stay near the top of the thread list.
There's nothing special about that thread though. When people are done writing the same thing in different ways, it will naturally be replaced by topics people are interested in writing about. That's just how the system works.
Nothing is being done to "hide" it.

Moderation has been kind of haphazard since CRC was cashiered, IMO. Mitnal and the community team do a pretty good job, but I think it was a better-moderated forum when it was done by player volunteers.

another forum alt: your sig needs to be updated that thread is at 34 pages now... But yeah while I appreciate RyanD's response to the accidental threadlocking I havent liked how ccp has behaved in the last month ish at all. The nerf has had HUGE amounts of ppl fighting back about it many with math behind them; and yet ccp doesnt pay attention to the wish to get this nerf canned or severely reduced before it goes live. Yes the mechanics are being tested and retuned. But thats like saying the US army would help out by filling a bomb crater by dumping more sand into it. The nerf is still going to ruin a large amount of pvp (especially lowsec pvp that doesnt involve blobs).
As for myself if this goes through like its looking ccp cant count out on my 75 usd a month. :( --
My sig doesn't fit and the sig limit is ******ed >>. (yes this is a "jetcan".. get over it) |
