Basically it's other players who don't know how to behave themselves in public. They believe immature vulgar and abusive behavior is acceptable towards others because this is the internet.

trolling is like RP, I wouldnt do it here or in some other forum sections, but its in the spirit of the forums for many of the sections like crime and punishment and corporations, organisations discussion sections etc.
when trolling is done properly I find it hilarious tbh

The first reply is pretty much the correct one. I don't like the second one, although it is sometimes part of trolling.
What you basicly want to do when trolling is try to get a reaction out of people. This can be very disruptive, if you have a serious thread going on. It is frowned upon in this area of the forums for example. Horrible ideas and questions get trolled a lot and are often posted by trolls to get people fired up. Trolling can also be very entertaining, if done properly and if you don't try to ruin a serious and thoughtful threads. There are some damn funny trolls in these forums from time to time, especially in the general discussion forum, but you can find gems in other forum areas too.

Would be funny if this guy was a troll.. You could start a very funny thread with that line.. (getting people to react to the idea of a troll ) Oh the irony..

There is a very basic principle to remember when it comes to the iconoclast notion of the ubiquitous troll.
A troll is a sort of nameless form that mimics a normal online user but actually has no tangible meaning or purpose other than to stir things up.
A troll is a real person, acting like another real person, but who serves little to no purpose other than getting their jollies by rabble rousing and watching people bicker and prod at themselves ad nauseum.
A real life parallel would be someone who attends a party of mixed company who have no close associations. So they walk up swipe a finger down the side of the dessert cake and then watch in amusement from the corner of the room as everyone bickers and fights over "Ok, who dunnit?".

Also be sure to consult the index of Flame Warriors. The thing about the Eve forum is that it's so dysfunctional literally everyone qualifies as at least one of the entries on that list, and most qualify as a whole lot more.
