Hey y'all,
I'm trying to find a good fit to perma tank rats in 0.5 to 0.8 without having to bother about having my retriever being blown up against high sec rats,
we all know that retriever is made out of paper and plastic and they go down real fast, I tried civilian booster, as i do not have enough cap to keep a small booster running, (im also Gallente with very small shield skills)
anyone got any idea of how to make this machine work good in high sec areas lower than 0.9?
ps, my civilian tend to work against most enemys sept some in the lower sec and i go down real fast vs dread gueristas

Fit a Gistii booster, with todays price they cost next to nothing, and more importantly get some drones out.
Alternatively spend the 5-10 mil on rigging it with appropiate shield resistance rigs.

Yep just stick to drones, keep them on agressive if you want to go AFK, besides that the gisti booster may be a good investment.

Aye, the prices has fallen really low on those mods lately, but witch one would be good for a retriever, and also you dont think it will eat up too much cap?
Rigs do as well use up some cap, maybe install one or two ccc1's? to back up a small shield booster? would that be able to run one y'all think?

I guess the bottom line is that i dont care if it cost quite a bit as long as the ship dont get blown up vs Dread gueristas pretty much as thats the strongest rats that can be found in high sec, and they are not very strong of rats, but deadly vs a retriever |

Resistance rigs does not use cap, personally I'd consider CCC's to expensive for a retriever.
Yes, cap will be really tough, you'd pretty much need max skills and implants/rigs to keep it all running. I guess a single extender should be enough. Then again if DG-spawns are that big of an issue, drop the mining and get a ratting ship instead. Those DG's pay far better than veldspar spawns. |

5 light drones, some drone skills and you're ready to kill belt spawns easily. For tanking, one can at times get away with a Civ shield booster. A decent named shield booster will usually suffice.
Now for perma-boosting....The Retriever just doesn't have much to spare in slots, cap or recharge for such foolishness. Now if you're a good Gallente, you'll have your drone skills up and running T2 drones. 5 T2 lights tear through even the oddball faction spawns in 0.5 belts before they can do more than scratch the shields. If you run a Civ booster and stagger your strips, you might get away with perma-boosting, but I've rarely seen the need for such. |

Save money on the rigs and Gisti booster, mine in 0.9 for the 25 days it takes to train up then trade Ole Faithful for a spanking new Hulk. sXe |
