Scanning for missions is remarkably easy as well as exciting and profitable.
While there certainly easier, more reliable ways to earn ISK in this game, salvaging other peoples missions is a good way to make a decent living.
All the information you need to get started is located on these forums. A quick search on ninja salvaging or probe use will give you most if not all of the info you need.
Happy hunting. |

It is extremely easy once you master the basics of probing.

I disagree somewhat
The basics are easy, you can blanket an entire system in probes and you will find Mission plexes if you search for the right things.
But bear in mind the ships in MR plexes have 1/10th the likelihood to show up on scan and that it is not economical and rather time consuming to just whack down probes and hope you get a positive.
Efficient scanning requires use of the d-scanner, the whole point of scanning down MR's to salvage is that you specifically target the level 4's and even certain missions if you know what to look for.
Tricks of the trade and all- that what you get for free. Now, if only there was a group of well mannered, suave and sophisticated individuals that knew the intricacies of such operations and that were willing to teach people...
Edit: Just noticed your corp ticker Hows tricks brother?

It can be hard to start out with, but once you have lots of bookmarks all over the system from people you've probed in the past, it becomes easier to get within probe range. I personally use recon probes rather than scan probes and I try to get a result on the ship as they land on the acceleration gate or when they're in warp from the acc gate to the mission deadspace, otherwise after that it can be a bit of a wait to get a hit on their ship or their drones. You just need lots of patience. |

Actually, he has a point.
Ninja salvaging involves more bottom feeding than a homoerotic-themed dinner party. That is my witty input for the evening. :D
And, just for your information, I haven't fallen foul of on of your space-chimps. Rest assured though, my Civilian Gatling gun and Shield Booster will make light work of any crafty Minmatar frigates that invade my mission!

With aspirations to take out the trash in game as well? SN needs moar wardecs
(on an aside why are you apparently called sanitation officers or something of that ilk these days; same reasons Traffic Wardens are now Parking Attendants?)
EDIT: P.s. One day you'll be happily missioning and suddenly there will be the sound of a ship uncloaking right behind you, a voice whispering 'Suprise' over the intercom. The next thing you know globs of antimatter will be spattering all over you hull. Soon your defences will be breached and our mighty cannons discharging their payloads deep within your ship, its very bowels shuddering with each impact. More innuendo or are we done with this?

Hehe, I'm afraid I can't claim any belligerency here...not going to take out the trash, but merely illustrating the difference between a public servant dedicated to outdoor cleansing and a carrion eater
On that aside: because it gets us the chicks and makes us sound like scientists :D -----------------------------------------------

Why does this have to be about ninja salvagers?
Just as likely he wants to probe mission runners out to kill them, like many of us do. Call yourselves criminals.

Followed by a visit from CONCORD.
The absolute worst thing you can do, for yourself and your wallet, is to fight ninja salvagers. Even if you have an alt doing the attacking. Expect a T1 frig reappear in your mish within about a minute.

Another good idea is to start stabbing yourself in the eyes so you don't have to watch us salvage your wrecks.

You have a way with words. Date?
As for ninja salvagers, I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about them. You don't own the wrecks. If they salvage my mission, I'll just do another one. If they salvage that too, I'll move to a less populated mission hub.

ninja salvage is pretty much the lamest and most useless way to make isk....i think it was some idiot who said 'i made 170mil in just over a week' um, if you just do gimp lvl4's for a week, you'll triple that...but ya know, doofus's need way's to make money too....shooting a rock is tough~ ~ Woke up, got myself a gun. |

I seriously don't understand what the problem is here about ninja salvaging (coming from a mission runner so please bear with me)
If I get probed out in a mission and they start to salvage, I just shrug it off. If they are decent about it a lot of times i'll drop some bookmarks to other missions i've already completed. 99% of the time I can't be bothered with salvaging. More missions equals more LP which means more factional loot to sell.
Now for the twist. I seriously think ninja salvagers are doing the economy good in eve. Making it cost effective to buy Rigs since the parts are actually in the market. So to all the mission cry babies that say 'those are my wrecks i shot them so it should be my salvage' unless you actually salvaged all the parts for your rigs stop and think about where most of those parts came from.
good night and flame away.

Do ninja salvagers do it for the isk or for the tears?
My mission alt cannot find anyone who wants to salvage/loot my missions. I hate leaving the crap floating... but sometimes can't be arsed to clean it up myself.
The state of paranoia in the game is funny sometimes. Young characters think I'm setting up some sort of gank-attack or planning to rip them off.
