whe i had my rup i had crap skills, i would recommend (i can only remember the guns but ill put the must haves in the med and lows.)
2* named 720s with plasma 1* 425 with plasma 2* standards with heavis (swap for heavy luachers now) 1* malkuth assualt with defenders
1* med II shield booster [2 slots of ur choise]
1* Damage mod 2* ECCM mods [2 slots of ur choice]
heavy launcerhs can double to defender launchers too in case u come against a missle boat.

A more unconventional but far more effective config is as follows
Highs 3 heavy launchers 1-2/Nos/ neutralisers 1/3 autocannons 0/2 t2 smartbombs
Meds 1 100mn ab 1 10mn mwd 1 warpscram/1warp dis
Lows Cprs/dmg mod
This setup goes at 6kms and is lethal to frigates (nos/neut them till they run outta cap for mwd) its got enough speed to be pretty mugh unhittable to bs and enough firepower to take on most cruisers.
Mostly harmless |

Edited by: Altai Saker on 01/07/2004 10:42:21 Gruts setup is very good but I would personally replace the cprs with pdus, up to you of course ;p

Edited by: Rob Mattacks on 01/07/2004 17:06:36 Hi 4 x 220mm Scout/Prototype (these are cheap and worth it) 1 x heavy launcher 1 x Assault launcher (anti-frigate)/another heavy launcher
Med 10mn mwd web 7.5 scrambler
Low Med Armor Rep 2 400mm plating 2x Gyro 2 Energized adaptive nano/another Gyro 2
Best to get all named gear really for performance and fitting and it don't add up to much.
There are the 100mn afterburner set ups aswell but i am yet to try out. You may also need a more unconventional set up, like the guy above's, against the thorax, maybe a mix of autocannons/nosferatu's and a med smartbomb. I havn't been in Rupture for a couple of weeks so i do not know the state of medium autocannons (tracking wise-although their ROF has been improved) after recent patch but hopefully the tracking issues of all guns will be sorted soon.
edit- also 6 hammerheads in your drone bay or maybe a couple of heavies

Edited by: Prodigious on 01/07/2004 18:37:33 if youre PVPING in a rupture u need to be doing damage, u need to b able to tank and u need to b goin fast.
if youve got any experience, u wont b using unnamed 425's, 220's, 180's or 720's cuz theyre useless. named 425's are expensive and hard to find, so id got with:
3xheavy ion blaster (which takes up only 10 extra grid than the 425, does twice as much damage and has better tracking; 720's simply cant track much unless u use several tracking comps), 3x Assault launcher (which do more damage than heavy launchers.. test it out if u dont believe me)..
also, try mounting a nos instead of an ion blaster if u want.
mid slots... use a 100mn ab.. 10mn mwd will get u killed too quickly; webbie's a must
low slots..u gotta armour tank. experiment.. try some 400mm plates, a hardener or 2 and a repairer.
with this setup, u soften your target up with missiles... move in, webby, finish off with the blasters... while the launchers are still firing of course.. i mean, u can take out ANY cruiser (cept maybe a rax with heavies) with this.. ud still b able to hit frigs and ud b able to do serious damage to a bs.
edit: grut's setup is cool too.
