I spoke with the chap this lunchtime. It seems that his sons ( not the step son ) WoW account has been hacked. He suspects that his son downloaded a keylogger when he downloaded some UI mods for WoW. He was running Norton Antivirus and it didn't pick up anything He said he was going to format his pc tonight and get a different antivirus.
So that's an EvE account and a WoW account affected by this. Bloody nightmare imo.

-That is not an EULA violation, it's part of the game mechanics, when did you last see Tribesmen not killing clan enemies children?
Might not be expressly against the EULA, but go ahead an give it a shot. See if CCP giggles or kicks you in the balls -----------------------------------------------

Edited by: Evileene on 31/10/2008 19:14:02 One good way to get unbanned is to call your bank and hit CCCP up with a nice fat "chargeback" for each month you were billed, especially if you had prepaid time left.
This is one argument for using a major credit or debit card is that it gives YOU some power to use when in conflict with an entity like a MMO publisher who likes to hide behind EULA's and play "I don't have to negotiate with you" autocratic crap.
In a previous MMO I played, I suddenly got a permaban on 4 accounts. Customer disservice wouldn't talk to me or respond to my phone calls. The real reason for it was I posted something unflattering about management of this company on a 3rd party site. No, nothing personal, nothing illegal, basically just a compilation of lies, etc in their own words regarding the direction of that game.
I got my bank to reverse a whole year's worth of charges after presenting my evidence, which got customer disservice calling my cell phone every hour till I'd talk to them.
You see, a chargeback not only takes that money back from them, it also costs them a LOT in fees, and credit card merchants who have so many charge backs get their discount rate raised (the % of each transaction they are charged to be able to accept a credit card) which can deprive them of millions in revenue if this happens. They were falling all over themselves to reinstate my accounts, compensate my lost time and remove the ban from my record.
So, if CCP (or anyone else) deprives you of something you've purchased, and won't bother to explain why or answer your phone calls, the next call should be to your bank. Nothing motivates customer service to actually get in contact with you more than the beancounters screaming at them for causing a chargeback.
PS: if you bought GTC and paid with a credit card for them, you can still charge THAT back as well, because that seller technically still sold you a credit for a service you didn't receive. If you funded your account through in game GTC buys you are screwed.

I hear that kissing GM/ISD arse works too. My friend also got permabanned but it was reduced to a 30 day ban eventually.
