Damn! that's some bullet he used. 1 Rabbit shot, skinned and looks like it was cooked in the same instant jusdging by the red blaze
Next time maybe he should use the Thorium instead of the Antimatter. Everyone knows Antimatter isn't very accurate at long range, even if it is higher thermal and cooks the target as well.

try using rails instead of blasters
tbh the marksman should stop using a blunderbuss (8 guage) to hit a ranged target

I kept expecting the shooter to adjust his sights and kill the deer. Disappointed.

I can't see why your average person would want to go out with a gun to kill either a rabbit or deer TBH.

Not sure if you all watched the rest of the video, but the guy took a second shot and the deer finally ran away. The gun was a very high caliber and considering that the deer turned broadside I find it hard to believe that anyone shooting a highpowered gun like that while videoing it would actually miss the deer, wierder things have happened though.
Originally by: Fink Angel I can't see why your average person would want to go out with a gun to kill either a rabbit or deer TBH.
Well first off you have to define average person
On a serious side though rabbit are a challenge and are good to eat. Deer, if killed properly are a very tasty and healthy meat to eat. For example, they are not full of steroids, they are not fatty, and the meat is relatively free.
Deer have no natural predators left in the states, except for the few wolves that have been reintroduced to Yellowstone Nationla park, so if we do not hunt them the populations would grow to extreme levels and then you will have a massive population starving, diseased, and wreaking havok on the roads in rural and suburban areas. The exception is the cyotees sometimes hunt down very young or old but that is by far not a drop in the population control pool.
In Virgina you can get upward of 13 deer per year if you get all the licenses for doe season, blackpowder, archery, rifle, and shotgun seasons. Very few hunters take full advantage of all the liscenses, but a good amount are eliminated yearly, but we still have a tremendous amount of insurance costs paid out yearly due to vehicles hitting deer. Many stateshave these problems also.

you would have thought that he would have either: A. Recalibrated the sights B. compensated for the sight error
what was he aiming for the second time.... the bunnie on the right????
oh and was that a .75??? (i mean the casing made a loud clunk when it hit the ground) cos that bunny got seriously splashed

Judging by the ground impact of the bullet that hit the bunny, it was a 75mm rather than a 0.75 caliber. That would also account for why he vastly under compensated for the recoil.
I hope it was a body shot he was aiming for cos there wouldn't have been huch left of the head to mount as a trophy if he did hit it. I somehow doubt two ears and a bottom jaw would look so good on a trophy mount.

Just a couple comments here:
First of all, that was a normal hunting rifle he used. If you read the comments, the vid poster reveals that he used a 7mm Magnum round. Not a very large round, but good for buck hunting. (You can always tell the people that have zero experience with real weapons, as they have no clue how LOUD a real gun is.)
Secondly, he notes in the subheader for the video, that his son dropped the gun about a week before the hunt, but didn't tell him. Thus the sights were knocked out of alignment, causing his shot to go high. You can tell he is a fine shot, as BOTH shots go to almost exactly the same spot.
Lastly, he actually DID get the buck, just not on this video. The buck ran into the brush, and the hunter returned to his truck and got a second rifle. After the hunter returned to his tree stand and waited for a bit, the buck cam back out, and the hunter shot him. So he got two trophies; A nice buck, and some lucky rabbit's feet! Yeah, When I can be bothered to wake up early enough to hunt I use a .300 Loud as hell and could easily kick up a dust cloud like that... But fling a rabbit 3 feet in the air? Dunno, I'll have to try it

The chances of that first shot hitting another target like that are so astronomical that I'd forget the rabbits feet. They didn't work too well for the previous owner.

For the meat. A deer hunting license is around 24 USD. Typical price of meat at the store is about 1.15 per pound depending on the meat and brand. With a white tail deer averaging 125-300 pounds, minus bone, guts and so forth the meat alone can save you about 50-200 USD and if you know someone who will take the skin thatĘs more money in your pocket.
If itĘs just for sport then yeah itĘs a waste, if its for the meat, and in these economically troubling time, its well worth it, especially considering how quickly deer reproduce.

Fry off 1lb of diced venison in butter after rolling it in flour mixed with some mustard powder. Bring up the heat and deglaze with a glass of good red wine. Add some broken up field mushrooms, a few shallots, some diced carrot and half a pint of beef stock, plus salt and pepper and a few crushed junipers. Cover and cook over a low heat for half an hour or so. Uncover and cook for another 10 mins. Serve with the rest of the red wine and some mashed potatoes/fresh bread/herb dumplings/whatever.
That's why.
PS: If the venison is not so good quality, marinate in the red wine for a few hours first. Reserve the liquor to use for deglazing.

I shoot a 7mm Remington ADL. It is about as loud, it can kick up some dust, but I doubt my gun shooting 7mm rounds is going to make a rabbit fly like that and kick a cloud up like that one either. But I have never gone after small game with it either.
