So I got a new PC last week, its shiny and can probably play anything you throw at it at the moment. I bought FC2 and was very disappointed by it, so much so I am probably going to return it because it SUCKS! I also played through assassins creed, which despite what most people seem to think, is quiet fun to play (**** ending!).
Looking around the market I just don't see any other games worth buying at the moment, Fallout 3 is on my xmas list so I can't buy that. Maybe I should just wait for left 4 dead seems to be the only good looking game that is coming out this year.
Anybody got any suggestions? I like FPS/RPG/RTS

Dead Space, Fallout 3, and X3TC are the only PC games that have caught my attention recently. Along with Saint's Row 2.

was at Halloween party. 2 of my buds have Dead Space already (for ps3 not PC but whatever...)
anyways, i heard very good things. one has fallout 3 as well, says while the game is beautiful and fun (if your into the really open world stuff), Dead Space was much more entertaining.
so, Dead space. that's the one i'm looking forward to getting anyways.

Tbh, find a way to test Dead Space before you buy it, I tried it and quite frankly hated everything about it, uninstalled within 25mins after the first start-up. _______

It's not "whatever", that's an important piece of information.
See Akita's opinion of it in the fallout thread: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=910497&page=1#22
As for what to get, that's a tough one. If you enjoyed Crysis, you might enjoy Crysis Warhammer. Haven't played it myself yet, so can't vouch for it though. The new C&C is out too. Obviously it's gotta be crap like most (perhaps not all) C&Cs, but it's the kind of crap you can enjoy, because you know it will be crap. Haven't played that either.
Everything I've have played of late has ended up being a big disappointment. Especially FarCry 2, the abysmal sequel to the best straight up shooter ever released. But you already knew that.

Out relatively recent :
World of Goo - cheap, awesome, fun, works great on just about any system
Multiwinia - about the same comment, but slightly more machine-demanding (not by much)
Red Alert 3 - not much different than just about any other RTS, but, meh, at least it doesn't dissapoint - you get exactly what you'd expect... but a bit pricey for my tastes for how much fun it actually brings ; might want to get, might want to skip, depending how much you like the style (more than just a bit cartoony, and not that easy on the machine at all if you want a good "look")
Now, if you missed any of the previous whenever they came out, you might want to give them a shot...
C&C3 plus expansion pack - almost same comments as RA3, a bit older, a bit more serious (less cartoony), well you know what you get anyway
Sins of a Solar Empire - if you like RTS, you will *love* this one. And with endless mods already out, with a decent AI and the online matchmaking, it will provide endless hours of fun. A MUST HAVE game, IMO. Not that expensive either. And looks decent even on lowest graphic settings, on which it works like a charm on machines that would choke on EVE classic.
Mass Effect - not the greatest shooter/RPG combo ever, and the copy protection is quite annoying, but it has its moments. It *is* an improvement over both KotOR games (no storyline/backstory similarities, but similar gameplay... not identical), just the right mix of RPG/shooter (and, enjoyably enough, customizable how much of each kind, and playable at both extremes). Not that much of a replay value as they tout it to have, but meh, it's significantly above average to be worth playing.
Space Rangers 2 (and "expansion pack") - now, this is a HIGHLY HIT OR MISS game for most. The graphics are completely underwhelming, and it feels like an ancient game. However, it's a mix of RPG and both real-time plus turn-based strategy, and even a tiny bit of arcade action in some sections, or (heh) even a small text-based RPG section for some of the "quests" (including, for instance, getting in prison for your dealings)... all of it with a LOT of freedom and a lot of possible options. You might be put off by the looks, but if you can get past that, you will find out just how awesome this game can be : think Elite/Privateer (but in a 2D "map" with just some 3D-esque effects, boo) plus a Mech Warrior-esque simplified RTS plus a lot of other stuff. Like I said... hit or miss... you'll either love it or hate it intensely.
Darwinia and Defcon - same comments as for Multiwinia
Other than that, the past couple of years has been kind of devoid of "worthwhile" games. Well, that, or I don't remember any that would have given me a long/strong enough gameplay experience to be worth mentioning.

Empire Total War. I know its not out yet, but gotta spread the word. It looks to be EPIC!!!!
Crysis Warhead is pretty good, shorter than the original though. Most games I like have been listed. Sins of a Solar Empire is good, mega space battles.

if you don't mind a game not that emphasized on guns and combat, try Mirror's Edge, although PC Version still takes like 2 months or so. GTA IV is also coming out in 3 weeks.
