I want to join a corp, but they all look the same to me. I don't know exactly what I want, but I know that I'm not interested in any from the first five pages of this forum. Are there any groups out there that are a bit different? A bit off the wall? I don't log in to grind money (I do that in real life), or to pad a killboard (ditto!). So let me know if you know what I want to know, and then, you know, I'll let you know...

Hi there,
If exploration, complex scanning, inventions or trading are things that you might want to hear, where you might are looking for, then My corporation is the place for you.
Contact me in game for a litle conversation if you are interested

Edited by: Larry Llyod on 06/11/2008 04:37:45 Sorry for hijacking your thread a bit, but I too am looking for a unique corp, one that doesn't stick to ye olde grinde of doom.
So I think we have something in common!

I'm sooooo tempted to post that we're a corp of furries :-)
We're looking for people who enjoy working together and enjoy each other's company. Our brief recruiting summary is here and our corp website is http://www.off-axis-response.com.
Come join our public channel, OARTalk, and see if you like the people you meet there. I agree with you, it's about meeting people and making friends, not about how big your wallet is.
We're currently in 0.0 as part of an alliance, working on learning the deeper aspects of the game -- politics, capital ship operations, complex moon mining, Rorqual based mining ops, etc.
Yes, there's making money and killboards but as you seem to understand these are means not ends.

I totally dig your desire for something different from the normal grind. Here's a question that recruiters so far on your post haven't asked:
What do you want out of a Corp?
P.S. I'm not a recruiter, I'm a Caldari Navy kinda guy, and yes I do approve this message.

Hi saint, u'll prob find that most corps claim to be different, but in fact most fall in to one of the bellow catorgries.
industrial mission runners pvp 0.0 pvp empire pirates mercenaries faction warefare role playing allround (pvp and industrial)
u just have to decide which u want and then (the hard part) find a corp that does it well. some corps are better than others, but that all depends on ur own perception. also another down side is that the really good corps dont need to advertise (just like u dont see ferrari ads on the telly) the corps that i've found to be "different" tend to be more hard core but still fall into the catorgries above.
good luck in ur search Vasq

What about corps such as the ISGC / ISRC or this corp? Which of your proposed categories do they fall into?

Most doesn't mean every, theres always an exception. But thank u for pointing this corp out it may help Saint, anyone else know of more unusual corps or ones that dont fit into the "normal" slots i mentioned?

Larry, the racing corp is exactly the kind of corp I'm talking about. I'll read their guidelines and see if it suits me. I also know of E-Bank, that's another example of a corp that's not based on standard gameplay. Are there any others? I suppose if a corp is very off the wall, they'd find it hard to recruit new members, so they wouldn't use this forum very much.

I'm interested in possibly start something up, I just need to hammer out exactly what the corp would do. Hopefully something that would involve a lot of people, as I'm tired of sitting around in dead corps with members that never play.
In any case, maybe we'll have a talk, eh?
