Actually trainning for MPII weapons.
I want to use this setup for SOLO PvP and ratting in lowsec or 0.0. I am ratting a im getting attacked to be able to defence myself. Two kind of drones Medium x5 for DPS and light x5 Hornets for ECM
It is CAP stable without the MWD.
I think it is not 'very expensive' for a BS.
Is it viable? any weakness you could comment? Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Edited by: Securitas Protector on 04/11/2008 10:05:51 For solo PVP I would go something like the following, although most people will tell you solo PVP is dead. Upgrade to amarr Navy crystals as need be. ALTERNATIVELY, change out the LAR II for a plate and other stuff out for resists. It is NOT cap stable...which is why you might want to do this OR pulse the repper. I also have a "gate crasher" setup which breaks very small gatecamps; more active tank and two guns out for heavy neuts.

Generally Ratting and PvP needs extremely different setups. Try to do both and you will usually be alot less efficient. ---------- /Pretty posting. |

One of the basic rules in eve is to specialize. Try to do two things and you will only fail at both. Avoid dual weapon systems, avoid shield and armor tanking at once, avoid combined pvp and ratting setups.
Thing is what you have here is a setup with a pitiful tank, very low damage and just about no credentials for pvp at all. Most ships will be able to take you down, laughing, sorry.
Furthermore, if you really want to use utilityslots, I'd give the geddon a second glance. It's one awesome ship and might serve you this purpose better than the apoc. Parrots, commence!

I kown about specialization and i agree with you. Really i dont want to make both things. I really want to rat in lowsec or 0.0 The problem is that i also want to defend myself from pirates and with a ratting setup i'm ****ed. So my perpose is to be able to have an opportunity to survive a pirate attack while i am ratting.
I dont know if it is possible and i havent much experience about PvP.

Edited by: Arune Ayden on 04/11/2008 14:15:31 Use the Geddon, possibly with Dual Heavy Beams until you can use Mega Pulse II's. Max the gank, minimize the tank, and use the utility slot for a cloak.
7x Dual Heavy Beams with appropriate range crystals (usually maximals of 52km) 1x Prototype cloak
3x Cap recharger II's
1x CPR II 1x LAR II 2x Hardener II's 3x Heat Sink II's
3x CCC I's
Keeps the tank running and you'll have no trouble surviving a triple 1.85 spawn in 0.0. When you see bad people in local, you should be agile enough to warp to your safespot, or if not, align to your safespot as soon as you warp in so you can get away if things do get too dangerous.
EDIT: I forgot the drones. Two flights of whatever Medium II's are most effective against the rats (Two, because you might have to leave a set behind to save your hide) and a flight of Warrior II's: helps fend off the pesky interceptors and frigates who are tackling you. |

If you want to defend your self as in be able to get away. Fit 4 guns and rat more slowly (fit MEga pulses they have enough range and more DPS than beams). And fit 4 heavy neuts that can shut down basically any SOLO aggressor and give you a chance to escape.
MWD might not be needed if your pvp capability wanted is restricted to not being caught in belts.
If you want to Fight and Defeat the enemy, then forget the idea of ratting setup. You will have to rat in a FULLY pvp focused ship. less than that and you are toast.
------------------------------------------------- If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough
