The premium graphics are nice to look at of course, but really I personally play zoomed out most of the time so the effects and graphics aren't really an issue. The graphics don't make the game it's the engine and people you fly with that matter, so zoom out, fit your ship and carry on as normal - the only thing you're missing is a much much bigger download.
Originally by: Ocularus Dothumiter YAY, NEW PATCH THAT DOESNT GIVE MAC USERS PREMIUM GRAPHICS...
On a side note, how hard is it... seriously. I love EVE, but unfortunately, I also love my MAC. Im rather unpleased to pay full price for half a product.

So this "big expansion" is in fact and only : - 50% more bomb per production !! => one variable value change in 5 blueprints ... - certificate & medals - weapon grouping and HUD moving - new music (well a lot of us is playing without sound anyway) - new models and textures for stargate (the old ones weren't great ?) - a new option in autopilot to avoid systems - some modification on assembly array - the Orca
Well I don't know about you, but for me, it seems everything but the orca is closer to the "minor version" change list than to the main feature list of an expansion.
It looks like something wasn't ready for release (or has'nt been announced yet) So CCP has looked deep in their basement to find something to add in this ... something I really cannot call an expansion
To sum up I'm really disapointed, and I find a bit dishonest to include "features" such as Stackless IO and EVE64 in an "expansion" list... I'm begining to understand the expansion's name. "Quantum rise", so little no one can see it ...
I hope there will be a big announce in fanfest ...
I agree!
Nice patch but where is the expansion?

Originally by: Cpt Branko CCP, thank you for making me fit scramblers to every short range ship instead of disruptors. I did not need the ability to fight outside of webrange in my frigates/cruisers/BCs and everyone I warp to is always at 0 anyway.
Thank you for making me have to fit 2x medium neuts to every cruiser/BC hull in order to not die to a single AF in a BC/CS/cruiser/HAC. I always considered the way those CS can fend off a AF totally overpowered.
Thank you for making a 15 mil T2 fit interceptor safe from turret fire for solo tackling, while even the pimped interceptor - which can no longer be pimped within reason of course - is extremely unsafe in gang fights.
Thank you for making medium blaster boats have even less of a chance to ever fire in optimal. If people want to get in optimal, that's what power of 2 and a Falcon alt is for.
Thank you for nerfing nanos by lowering the speed of everything else in game. After all, with the relative speed differences remaining the same and you scaling weapon and EW range/tracking/DPS to compensate, everything is still the same.
Thank you for enticing me to blob with my battleships. I'd just lose them while solo, after all, and you protected me from this error by making this clearly unfeasible. Also, thank you for making them more effective vs those dreadful smaller things when they are in properly sized blobs.
This is a awesome combat upgrade, and I really have to thank CCP for a awesome job, splendid job done balancing and fine-tuning the changes, and above all, excellent communication with its customers.
Righto . . . nothing about speed nerf . . . I don't want to troll about this but . . . is there a way to get my money back if my blasterthron can not longer even scratch a dual webbed cruiser in range ?
I can imagine the picture :
All CCP devs appearing at Fanfest & screaming to all present players 'Speed nerf killed all blasterboatz ! LOL We got you noobz' before running to their bunker while laughing at us . . .

Guess I'll just buy a Titian, log in once and awhile and DD people, everything else in Eve has lost it's appeal with the release.
Maybe when CCP see people leave in large numbers, they will reverse the nerf or give us a PVP server, as PVP with new features will just be blob fest, and that isn't fun for anyone.

Well I would like to as a producer, but I still have to be careful what I promise to the few "contracts" I make with people on a random basis at the moment.
It's a much more important feature for a intra-alliance/corp market in 0.0. Not that much to do with empire alt-corp, etc.

WTF!!!! This patch is no where near ready. The speed nerf has screwed up most of the pvp mechanics of the game and Missile boats are near useless against all types of ships.
Looks to me like its more of a patch than an expansion - I hope there is stuff not mentioned here that is going to be left till the fanfest.
Black op's/fuel bay changes for instance and alot of others things i have seen mentioned or was it all a ploy to stop people quiting after the Ghost training saga.

Not aimed at you directly or anyway personal but:
Quote: Meh ! Fix Lag, put all your content designers into the coding!!
Or
Quote: Meh! PvE/Mining is boring, make more content!!
Just look at Jita in result of StacklessIO and Eve64. It just isnt what it used to be anymore ...
... no 5 times trying to get in (not talking about dock or undocking) ... no more after 5 more a petition to get moved ... no 10minutes wait till items or cargo bay opens ... and another 10 till stuff appears ... no 'fear 700+ ppl in jita' as it crashes your comp till infinity, because now Eve64 + stackless should handle 1400ppl
...
And yeah, content wise this does feel a bit light, when they reap what they started server side 'just a few years' ago. And read the little notes, Eve64 and stacklessIO do belong to that but they needed to release it earlier so the patching goes smoother, so they dont break the server for a week since they put everything on tranq at once, but apart from all ........ that .......
I mean, they certainly could have done more

It's ridiculously hard, which is why we've had more than a year go by without releasing it, despite having a team at Transgaming working on it nearly full time, and the direct participation of our CTO (who is a graphics Wizard) assisting.

I am more than a little bit disappointed from the expansion. As the name is/was "Quantum Rising" i hoped (expected) for a lot for love for industrialists. For me that is mainly a better interface for Production and Science. And of course some help with skill learning for invention and Production of T2.
Or do YOU know what science skill you have to train for all of you Blueprints ?
Thus far, i have not seen this in the expansion.

While there is always alot work behind curtains that is necessary and ofen hardly seen by us customers... I still have to agree the so called expansion is a bit thin... As for us it counts alot on what is realy new in the game...
As well... the current feature page looks like a bad joke... its just like an advert page... missing hard facts yet... I hope this changes soon... As I like to know what I get for my pile of subscriptions a while before I get slamed into the ground by oh so great last minute changes.

Outside the fact that i find the 'extension' a bit on the slim side (although i do admit that StacklessIO and EvE64 have improved the situation a LOT), just not enough new 'shiny' toys'. I just find the date choice is a bit odd 11th of november is a public holiday in my country and i think in a few others as well (although i ll be working that day so not much difference for me) |

Nice....1 week time. But If U realy want fix industry problems, fix missions first. I doing some mining, bulding and mish as well, but u can find too many goods in wrecks, so to be only idustry guy is not very good carrier, because u can find everything inside rats. Maybe cut 30-40% down??? Because bulding ships and ammo is not everything. And new gates? OK, sure, looks nice but I like it olds as well, and that is not most important issue. U cant find better looking MMO then EVE so.....
Anyway....good work CCP |

I'm just a newcomer to Eve but the changes seem quite nice. Lots of grognards are mumbling about changes (nerfs) to some boats. So what, the nerf of a class of boats is the boost of another. all those whiners should just adapt to the new situation, train some different skills, play around with different set ups, enjoy the changes and make the best out of them... or is that those whiners rather play the same old boring fitted ships once and again than try some new tactics? We are gamers, we like eve because it is a challenging game. stop the whining and enjoy the game.
Me? I'm sure I will enjoy the nice lag free experience of the game, the new boat, the medals and the certificates, and when I get skills to start worrying about the speed of my ship then I will study the situation and play around till I figure out how to beat my enemies in fleet battles.
someone told me EvE is a game for mature, educated people. They must be enjoying the game 'cos in the forums I mostly see the rambles of frustrated teenagers.
A happy (new) EvE player.

Change... it's one thing EvE has been great about. I mean how fun would it be if the game remained constant and never changed? I personally applaud taking out the advantage of one and giving it to another. Nerfs? It's just another way to make people rethink how they do things. For all those people who are b%$#@ing and whining about this... grow up. This game is not meant to be a mindless 'point and click' fest. Use your brain, and see how you can use this change to your advantage. Don't want to? Go play WoW. "You don't have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body." C.S. Lewis. |

Assembly Array Upgrades New changes and improvements to assembly arrays have been introduced, including an expansion of the range available. Manufacturers of battleships, freighters and industrial command ships get a new tool for their trade.
Can anyone elaborate on this - i have been on the test server and only see one new XL ship assembly array which seems restrcted to 0.4 and below. Surely they don't just mean that ?

Features!!
Stackless IO / Eve64 Serverside updates to improve performance, deployed weeks ago.
Travel avoidance Something we were always able to do manually, deployed weeks ago.
Alchemy, Bomb cost No new content, just a market rebalance.
Certificates, Medals, new Music, new Stargates None of these things actually effect gameplay.
Covert ops cloaking /jumping industrials The most hilariously misinformed set of changes to the game since...
Speed rebalanced Last I checked it was November the 1st and the balancing team hadn't even started looking at turrets or t2 missiles in the new system. You are going to release this in 7 days?
Orca, UI tweaks "You are now free to move your HUD to the top of your screen for whatever reason." I guess there needed to be something that could be called "new content."
ETC Secure Trading Evolved I'll let the description speak for itself:
"A completely new in-game system that allows you to trade 30 day game time tokens for ISK, the in-game currency, with other players via the EVE market. CCP's revolutionary approach to enabling anyone to play EVE for a bit of elbow grease!"
SCHWASOME! WE CAN TRADE GTCs THAT WERE DISCONTINUED TWO MONTHS AGO! THAT'S CONTENT! *HIGH FIVE* Oh wait, couldn't we do this already? Yeah, high five anyway...nice "expansion" CCP. Can we go back to Revelations?

Not alot of new content, you can hardly call it an expansion. I tought this was going to be a industrialist expansion but so far i only see one new ship and this alchemy stuff. Ow and i do love the small message at the botom of the features page: "Due to the nature of the upgrades that were made, certain critical components of the expansion were deployed prior to the announced release date in order to allow us to monitor performance." Dont know if the rest of the "features" are worth talking about it. I just hope you guys dont mess up the UI again.
