Hello there.
I'd like to see your personal opinions about the differences between 0.0 and low sec PVP.
All my life I've been a pirate: Had a lot of fun with it, but everything gets tiring after some time. I will probably keep this lifestyle, but I might try 0.0 PVP if enough people tell me it's much more fun than low security.
Usually, the epic tales of Lag kept me out of that area, but it seems that, with the new server changes, that has been fixed to a certain degree. Is it good enough?
Also, is it possible to do small gang PVP in the empire wars, or is it absolutely necessary to stick to the blob game?
Thanks in advance, any information is welcome.

Fleet fights are always going to be relatively laggy and vaguely dull; following one FC around and pressing F keys when he says so... you *do* sometimes do 'roaming gangs' in 0.0 but at least in my recent experience, anyone we meet either is dockskied or our FC's are pathetically afraid to engage (I recall an event where we were probably about 20 ships, and we had 17 reds two jumps away camping a gate; did we engage? no...)
Then again, this is in Syndicate, where stations let anyone dock; I guess its easier to chase down enemies in non-npc 0.0, but I'm not sure about that one.
I think in a nutshell, lower sec pvp involves larger groups; I've never seen someone going out hunting people solo around where I live, whereas that's quite common as a pirate... then again, in 0.0 most people should have the mentality of 'yes, this is 0.0, we are gonna have to fight' so technically more fights should be available... but thats completely wrong; people in 0.0 are just as afraid to fight vaguely unbalanced fights for fun as anywhere else.
My point? stick to pirating.

For empire wars, you need to be in a war with someone who will fight back, otherwise the whole exercise is either a non-event or just one side griefing the other.
No one likes to lose, so just as in low sec, you'll struggle to find someone wanting to fight you on an even field in 0.0
Lag isn't the problem in 0.0. That only really comes into play when you get inter-alliance conflicts. Finding afforementioned "fair fight" is the main challenge, if that is what you're after
_______ People like that don't have friends just temporary common interests.

No such thing as a fair fight in 0.0 You're either outnumbered or you outnumber the enemies. Wether you come out on top or not is totally upto you.
And yeah highsec wars need a target that will fight back unless you like to blow your time and isk on locators and camping.

If you show as red to anyone in 0.0 (or for some just the fact that you are not blue) then prepare to die |

Went roaming in 0.0 the last 2 days. Got 1 measly Cov ops kill. People will either safespot and cloak, or hunt you in a blob. It's definitely survivable if you manage to get through the entry systems, but a really boring affair, if you're trying to stay alive.

Went to 0.0 yesterday and had epic fights. Was pretty awesome. Lowsec is usually better for small gangs i.e <10 but if you can get about 20 people you can have fun messing with the noob blobs etc
