probally the best thing to do is ask to pay for the saftey of your pod.
or take your chances.
usally spamming warp to "insert whatever" usally works unless you facing an inty pilot or a HIC with multiple SB's. Or sometimes your pod is not going to survive no matter what you do unless you pay.
if you dont wanna loose your stuff always do the carebear cry in local and say your willing to pay for your release. In the end its probally cheaper that way.

thats a hard way, ransom is not always safe, u pay and u get poded anyway.
in any case, wich one of my cases would be better?

Did you buy your character on ebay or via the online character transfer - because flying with that stuff, and considering your age, the fact it was low-sec not 0.0 you shouldn't have been podded!
But to avoid getting podded;
1. Select something, use the warp to button, spam it when in low armour/early hull depending on the dps you're getting.
2. Logoffski works
3. Convo one of them or ask in local "How much?"
Failing that, if you're gonna roam low sec and you're not experienced use a jumpclone with cheap/no implants in - then it doesn't really matter what happens.
Most pirates honour ransoms, but if you don't want to take the chance get spamming the warp out button!

2. does not always work. We as pirates have a special gift to the ones that log off to save your pod its called the "Fail Train"
and all REAL pirates honor every single ransom made. If we didnt we would never get paid and its bad for buisness.

Pods are disposable assets. It was your choice to boost your abilities over the abilities of others who do not choose to fly with a multitude of billions in that pod.
If they caught your pod in low-sec, I'm gonna laugh really hard.

Why can't I have 3.5 billion ISK at least I learned that you can't instadock after ship destruction after losing a Vigil with no plants? Oye.
But also lol, and yes OP spam warp to some other object.

Meh. $250 is a lot to spend on one ship and plants when you don't really know all the key game mechanics yet, but that's already been stated. Ah well. Lessons learned etc.

Spamming the "Warp to" helps and is IMO the safest variant. You can gamble and hope they noone has a free point by ejecting from the ship shortly before it blows and warp away, but if a fast locker has a point (and in a competent gang this will be the case) your pod is toast too with the added possibility of giving away your ship if they manage to cease fire fast enough.
Most importantly: don't fly expensive stuff in low sec unless you REALLY know what you are doing.

Ok, I'll bite, what ship did you lose ?
If you're in lowsec, when you know you're dying click an object in space and spam the warp to 0 button, don't stop until you're away. If you're in 0.0, you'll most likely be stuck in a dictor bubble so you'll be getting a free ride to your pod vat.
If you log, you'll be podded. Might as well just sit there.
Don't wait until your ship pops before trying to warp off. Lag will get ya.
If you eject, you have a chance to get away, and thanks for the ship !

Once you realize that losing the ship is inevitable, select a moon or planet in your overview, and just start spamming the "Warp to" button. It will work every time, unless you are in a warp disruption bubble.

Added some stuff.

Generally, if you just have to get the Pod out, always have your autopilot set to something. Anything.
When you know your ship is about to die, get ready to hit it. As soon as you pop, start spamming to turn it on. Autopilot seems to react faster (by mere split seconds, but indeed faster) than just hitting a warp to.
At least this has worked for me, anyway
