I think you just need to expand upon your tactics. As has already been stated the stealth bomber is a glass cannon, you look at it funny and it WILL explode. I usually wait untill the fight has started to decloak and pick off targets of opportunity. If you decloak before the hostiles have called primary's, you will be one of them, no doubts about it. Flying a stealth bomber is truly a game of patients and cunning. Which is why the are by far my favorite ships to fly.
So again anyone who wants to get rid of their bombers, Contract them to me, ill be happy to buy them, Just no manticores.  |

What happened to the dev's saying they were very pleased with the stealth bombers, that they were a niche ship and performed its role well
Putting torps OR citadel launchers on Bombers is such a stupid idea i can't even fathom why they would even think about it. If anything it should be an entirely differnt class of ship, a torpedo boat if you will.
SB's preformed wonderful as support snipers, Its range was its survivability. Giving it torps throws that out the window. I'm not sure how the hell they expect you to engage so close with a ship that has a paper thin tank, nor enough cpu/grid to fit launchers cloak and ab. So do realize that any change to their weapon system will require a complete rexamination of the slot layout and PG/CPU. Giving it t2 resistances will probably also be needed.
If CCP is on this power trip that weapon systems should only be effective against ships of the same class, then where the **** is the logic in using a Capital XL weapon system to attack BS? Not to mention speding 100m for launchers? Why cant the SB' be the exception for this rule?
Why cant they continue to be the awesome ships they are? Their no solopwnmobile, Their no jack of all trades; their a glass cannon. They take tactics, patience and skill to fly, In my eyes, moreso then any other ship ive flown.
So i really hope CCP rethinks their design goals here. If you think the game truly requires a craptastic torpedo spewwing frigate, then make it a new one, leave the existing bomber as is. I've taken the hit on the chin here with the reworked missile calc's and am willing and able to adjust my tactics to suit. However taking away the sole advantage of this ship is asinine. This thread is far past any usefullness it once had, i sincerely hope that any dev's who were reading it, stopped taking it seriously. All this is, is a few people wavinging their epeen and infallible logic around thinking they have the supreme idea.
Really the only sound idea that has come out of this entire thread is that we need two very different kind of bombers. One long range, one short range.

well when you have 50 people all coming up with ideas way outta left field, it can take a while to find the best course of action.
Personally to be quite honest i hope they ignore the majority of these comments and ideas. The bomber can be "fixed" by just tweaking its current bonuses.
The reason i say "fixed" is because im not really to sure that its even broken in the first place. Ive had no problem what so ever using my bomber since QR. Sure my tactics and fittings have changed as well as my target selection. But thats called adapting.
So what my bomber cant alpha strike every frigate now, big whoop. I still do more damage with my cruise missiles to small targets then my AF's take from heavy missiles. Thats pretty bad ass no? Last night my ishkur was takin 7-12 damage per heavy missile. My nemesis deals 150+ per missiles to that same ishkur. And quite frankly to a ship with 5khp, 150+ dmg per hit is quite a considerable ammount of damage.
I really just dont get what peoples beef is, i've been having plenty of fun decimating hac's and recons. So i will reitterate what i said several pages ago. However, I think it would be awesome if the role were DPS against very large ships. I'm not fussy, but that sounds like fun.

This is an MMO afterall. I find it odd that you cant damage moving cruisers, just the otherday i was nailing a curse that was moving well near its top speed for 300dmg~ish per missile. Please show me your t1 frigate that does 900 damage volleys
It really just sounds like a case of operator error to me. If your getting spanked by cruisers from 100-150km away your either need to rexamine your tactics, or get some better tacklers.
