With respect to all the nations that participated in this tournament and after a long and hard journey from the beginning, almost two years ago, please welcome the hosts, PORTUGAL and in an Olympic year the biggest surprise, GREECE for the Final of EURO 2004!
With wishes for a great match devoid of injuries, I welcome you to the closing thread of Euro 2004...

Yes the greeks were a damn real suprise.
But imho they deserve it , Portugal may have legends and great players but as a team Greece was much better.

The greece played good overall but their defence was incrdible .
ITs was like a stone wall on wich everything was stoping.
I was alwys lauphing when stars like zinedine zidane or figo started with a smile on their face, and half way through match they begin to scratch their head with sight of astonishement"Man this is just unpassable, what can i do?"

damn im sad, im still on the verge of tears for loosing the final , but to be honest greece deserved it, they played their game and managed to be the better team tonight, it made my day when porto won the champions league being the underdogs so i image how the greeks must feel, congrats greece.

yes this is very foul language and he is a bad looser(translate. But as i¦m still in lisbon waiting at the airport to leave, i must say that overall the portuguese are great people, they were great hosts, and before the game we were singing together side by side, we for greece and they for portugal. The best part is that despite a defeat like this (in their home and all that) they were clapping for greece after the final wistle and also gave us their thumbs up when we were celebrating after the game. Many of them also did swap their shirts with us and had 2 scarfs on, one portuguese and one greek.
PS1:Thanks for beeing such great hosts!!!
PS2:Lisbon is a nice city!!
PS3:MAn portoguese girls are VERY nice :D
