here is the sheet I made for calculating the costs for t2 ships, capitals, etc (price, matterials needed, etc).
 INPUT section -->you can enter data in white cells (matterial efficiency, invention has different cell, mineral/matterials prices etc)
use drop down lists on the ship's names to choose one
most of the values are correct, but you may encounter some differences becouse of the algorithms I used or potential typo mistakes
 industry sheet does not work correctly with open office, use ms-excel

I don't see a way to enter your skills that would effect the mineral requirements (production efficiency, etc)? Am I missing it somewhere?

If you are going to build capital ships, or invent tech2 ships, is going to be quite a surprise if you dont have production efficiency lvl5
I have used ms excel to build this sheet, using few algorithms, tables, and some calculations... nothing fancy,
so must be something wrong with the compatibility with open office

I'd be quite surprised at anyone building capital ships without PE5. Given that the capital ship construction skill requires it 
Also, inventing T2 ships without PE 5 is just well...
