I got to thinking, each race has its own special type of weapon, i.e. Amarr with lasers, Minmatar with projectile, etc. So, I got to thinking about what weapon a genetically-engineered superintelligent Jovian brainiac race might specialize in...

Would probably make sense because well smartbombs are an area of effect weapon and that is the only of its kind right now. Plus think about a powerful smartbomb. It would be devastating.

I've thought that this would be a great idea for some time now, kind of like artillery. It would be pretty cool to have high-yield warheads on projectile weapons that do splash damage like Torpedos.
The only problem is, how to balance it? With torpedos you can kill them with Smartbombs, defenders or speed... But I'm not sure there would be a way to balance area effect projectile weapons. Spiffy idea though.

Jove probably everything but if its projectiles,hybrid,missiles probably depends on the ship and not race as caldari, gallente etc.

There have been some great weaponary in Sci-fi novels (obviously), let imagination run wild with this one.
1) Spatial Distortion beam -
like a warp field bending spacetime, except this beam is projected "consentrated and locally" to a target twisting and sharding metal.
2) Singularity Bolt -
This would be devastating, accelerated using rail technology (not magnetic but gravimetric power), the intense gravity would rip its targets apart.
3) Graviton Beam -
similar effect to a singularity bolt only much less powerfull.
Too many books, thats it for now.

Smartbombs could be the answer. I remember when CONCORD had to launch the special ops division to take out m0o once a LONG time ago. They used crazy smartbombs that took out Battleships in no time.

Where'd you hear that? I wouldn't be suprised though, as railguns are very high tech weapons, even compared to lasers. Blasters too.
The jove ships do seem to be half missiles and half turrets, though. I'd think that they would either use lasers or hybrids, as projectiles are... low tech?

to be painfully honest the jove have rewritten the human genome, and made many genitic modifacatios. i suspect their ships are alive and akin to the yuzhan vong of the star wars genre. the jove ships are mostlikly grown and full of genticly enginerad techologiy such as organisims that use gravety to propell its ships and can produce feilds to asorb or even possibly deflect weapons fire with little or no damage taken to ther defense systems. also we must take into count that thejove still use electronc based tech so we can surmize at least some of ther ships and weapons could be hybrids of mechanical, electoncic and bionic make ups.
in summrry the jove could have a million ways to destroy your uber battleship, with your own fire power or with or with bilogcay created plasma flares from the living tissue of their ships. or even beams such as the asguard have athat make you simply dissapear.

Jove use jedi mind tricks to cause you to randomly attack concord/gate guns/gates. Failing that they use light sabres and several months of McDonalds happy meals to close your arteries and make you too fat to fire back.

Eletrical Shocker - Guns that use eletric capsules. The guns have VERY low damage mods.
Eletrical Light Shocker 30, Eletrical Light Shocker 40, ect
Eletrical Medium Shocker, ect
Eletrical Thunder - Heavy weapon
-Ammo-
Ammo that has low damage to all types of damage.
Eletrical Surge - Kentic Damage and Thermal damage. Shocks the speed of a ship down 5 m/s.
Eletrical Blast - Kentic Damage and Explo damage. If the armor/shields are down, it damages the capractor core down 50energy.
Eletrical Storm - Kentic Damage and Em Damage. Shocks all the eletronics on the ship offline for just a split of a second. (Like if someone has a jammer on you. It will shock it offline then it will have to autorestart)
Eletrical Rain - Kenetic Damage and Em Damage. Every hit lowers the Kenetic Damage resistance down. (10 damage = -1 Resistance to Kentic damage to shields or Armor)
This is an mis-spelled random idea to maybe making guns/ammo more diverse. Might be to unbalanced. But I thought it would work due to low damage. I think it would be a cool concept if there were guns/ammo out there that hit the inner ship eletronics/speed with eletric shocks. Kinda like what poison does in most midevil games. Kill a giant, you must lower his strength down.

If I had to put my two cents in for the Jovians I would say something along the lines of FTRLC & Bits.
Fast Tracking Refractional Laser Cannons (FTRLC)= Uses the same principle as other laser cannons that is used by other races with one difference. It bends the lasers after it has been fired!
Bits = Works like drones but instead of just attacking a target it can also be assigned to defend a target. It uses the same technology used within the FTRLC which lets it bend light. So instead of just using lasers to fire, it can create a shield which can help deflect attacks coming from hostile targets.
What would be even nicer is using multiple bits you could surround a target which would pretty much leave it trapped and badly hurt if it tried to break out of the cage :)
