I'm about to start my training for interceptors any time soon, and I was wondering wich I should choose, caldari or gallente? What are peoples expirences of taranis/ares or crow/raptor? And yes, these ships will mainly(only) be used for pvp
I'm not ignorant, I'm just misinformed! |

If u look back theres quite a few topics comparing crows / taranis interceptors.
Alot of people seem to prefer the taranis since the last missile nerf/balancing.
Just depends where most of ure skills lie atm, if u have lots of missiles skills then crow might be better, or for gunnery skills then the taranis is better.

I'd say take the crow, i fly one and think its excellent. if you want to stay out of web range then fit light, if you want to do more damage over time try rockets.
mine goes 5.6k m/sec and can run at that speed indefinatly. having looked at the stats a raptor is a lesser version of the crow. guns on caldari ships dont work too well.
If your having trouble finding one to buy - try lonetrek region, tis where i got mine from :)
but yes, if you've got good little hybrid skills a gallente one would be better..if you have good little missile skills take the crow. It just occured to me that I've never seen an ares...not sure why.
in a fight between my crow and a taranis I'd be quite scared of it though - i think its first barrage might tear me to shreds (not had the change to find out yet though :P)
Bite me....for i taste good :)

I use a Crow to do level 3 agent kill missions. I have no problems taking out 4 cruisers etc with light missiles and a small blaster. This should give you some idea on how good the interceptors can be with the right skills and loadout.
I have Raptors too but not as good as the Crow.

Light missiles are the evil. Can do some wicked things with em and outside web/smartbomb range. Light blasters are insane damage, but at very close ranges making you hug whatever you're shooting. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

Add some Ballistic Control Units if your set-up can fit them and your going for best dmg. _________________________________________________________

but yeah, if u want to keep the distance, dont get a taranis.... --------------------------

Go for crow if you want to pvp. Me and a friend were *ahem* patrolling 0.0 the other day and some Taranis cam from no where and attacked us, but she had to get in close to hurt and ended up getting webbed, my friend darted away out of range and our Kestral's lights ripped her to pieces. ------------------------------------------------ I've always owned Kehmor, cheap as chips off Ebay

As I recall that was my taranis. I should point out your friend didnt manage to dart away quite as well as he might have hoped... after putting him down, I warped out.
You did manage to get me down to about 12% armor... I thought you'd already jumped, which is why I went after your friend. My mistake, and one I almost paid for.
