How about adding a tracking stat/penalty to neuts and vamps like every other offensive weapon in the game (turret based)?
Just an idle thought.

So how do you propose that a larger ship defends itself and disengages from a smaller ship then given the impending web effectiveness decrease?
No would be the short answer, this idea has come up before, and it isn't a very good one.

Edited by: Daevonar on 08/11/2008 21:07:25 Well, you dont need a free turret slot to use a neut or vamp, so I'd say they probably aren't meant to be turret weapons. Dae.

as you said in my other thread... use your drones.. see, that works both ways....
fact of the matter is, neuts/vamps are an offensive weapon.. why not tracking nerf them like everything else?

medium drones don't track anything small anymore, small drones are nearly the same.
tracking suggests varying degrees of success. that means a wrecking shot from a neut would take 40% of a battleship's cap in 1 volley. that would make ships with energy vampire bonuses useless.

But one is only applicable to pvp, and the other is mainly a pve concern. Changing neuts and nos affects pvp only, do you think a smaller ship pilot with a couple of braincells to rub together is not going to shoot your drones if they are the only source of damage to them...
Conversely in pve, you get agro, then you launch drones, so that is a non-issue.
Oh and missiles aren't tracking nerfed, they do just fine, and against nanofits do better than they used to, and hey, with the new bonuses a nighthawk now rocks.
