Hi All!
How can I post a link in an ingame message?
Just inserting text like "http://www.eve-online.com/" doesn't result in a link.

Everything there is to know about posting on these forums. And incidentally that forum (Forum Experiments) is the place where you can test stuff out too.
EDIT: there's an omission, you must include the target url in "", as in url="blahblah"

Just type the URL into the message, or paste it.
Links only in channels from paste etc.

Oops.
In-game links: You type whatever your sentence is into the chat box, including character names or web addresses, then you highlight (using the mouse) the text you want to change into a link, then you right-click, Auto-Link, and choose an option (can be Show Info, Web Link, Notepad, etc.).

Urls don't work in chat, only in bios and other boxes which include a url option in the formatting box.

URL's work perfectly in chat...they didn't used to, but last patch fixed that..

You know what? You're right. And what's more, I knew that. Having a blonde moment there, dunno what I was thinking of. Only thing that doesn't work at the moment are secure links (https) which won't work with IGB anyway.
Only thing I can think of is i got confused by your original post. You don't have an option for making them a weblink, they just are, provided you use http:// to precede it. Can you repost explaining what's not working? As your original query seems to be invalid, as you can do exactly what you say you can't.

Thanks for all the posts. But my problem is still not solved. I know that the URLs work in chat, but my question was about EVE MAIL. And I don't need to know how chars oder items are linked. My question is how are URLs posted in eve mail as links?!

Your original post didn't say anything about Evemail. I think the short answer is you can't. URL's can only be linked from chat and info boxes, like Bio's and Corp info, where you get a url option in the top bar.
This is deliberate to cut down on spammers.

i have a similar question
When you are in a chat window (i.e local, corp, etc)
How do you post a link to a system or an item. Like someone will say I am in "system X" and system x will be highlighted, and you can right click it to view info or set dest.
how do you do you post thing like that in chat? I have typed the name of a system in beofre, but that doesnt do it.

You select the text, then right-click and select "Auto-link -> Solar system".  |
