Raping the Caldari..Again????

ClinkXENO	Posted - 2008.11.09 03:51:00 - [1] Heloo all love alot of work that CCp does hope they dont think im unapreciative.But Just as the title states.First Torps nerf nerf nerf now same is to be done with Cruise missiles...might as well just remove the race alltogether.It really wasn't broken so why fix it?Mwds some times one's best friend to get out of a jam...forget about it now your stuck if your scrambed becuase now a scrambler will act as a webber,so we can just throw out our webbers.I read theres an area where you can speed tank against cruise missiles lol not if they guy shooting them at you has a scrambler. I enjoy playing the game there's alot of stuff that makes the game fun and it's cool that it keeps evolving.But for those that have been playing for some time now are pretty concerned with some of the game mechanics changing and possibly for the worst,I personnally would hope not.Mediums drones gah im speechless....but everything else in the notes looks great and exited to see it all.

I don't see why they need to go after the mwd with a scrambler.. It's another NOS nerf. I never used them anyway. I missed the cruise missle nerf, can't help there. Sorry.

Only the Kestrel, Caracal, Raven and some Scorp and Blackbird fits are primarily missile-based, although several other ships can still mount unbonused launchers. Your understanding of the MWD and scram changes are flawed, too. Scrammer is not a webber, MWD is still effective on ships that can hit from outside of scrammer range, and AB's are going to be more viable in PvP post-patch. Medium drones will still be effective against small targets, just not as much as before (so pack more lights and train up drone durability.)

Speeds reduced all 'round means this is now much harder to do. Torp ravens make exellent support DPS ships. If we've got a dedicated tackler I'd take a torp raven over a blasterthron any day. Rokh is a freaking awesome sniper, especially after the rig stacking penalties come in. Scorp makes for an awesome fleet pvp ship (or alternately as a bait ship, specifically BECAUSE it's so freaking useful in fleets and can field an awesome tank) Crow is arguably the best ceptor (I'd argue that it's by far the best due to a lack of tracking issues making it an exellent choice in small gangs/solo pvp) Onyx is an awesome ship, though tbh I'm not 100% sure on how it compares to others. Point is, stop complaining. There are plenty of good caldari ships, people just assume there aren't because none of them perform well solo (save the crow which is great solo). This will not change after the patch. Really, the ships that could flat out outrun your missiles now only take reduced damage from them. Unless that damage reaches 0.0 this is a BUFF to missiles.

Cerberus is next to useless, Torps are meh. The only reason Falcon and Rooks can be thought to have a boost is that Caldari pilots may not have any alternatives. I know I'm going to be living in my Falcon once again so that I can actually have an impact.

Saying that Caldari shouldn't worry about a missile nerf because they can use Rails is like saying that Minmatar should stop complaining about projectile weapons because they can use missiles. Missiles are the primary weapon for Caldari, and all but one of their "good" PvP ships rely on them.

With the current changes I don't see a reason to use missiles. It is not like turrets are that fantastic either, but at least with turrets you don't have the quantum baggage of negatives. You just can't reasonably use missiles without target painter and web and that already places a significant strain on mid slot modules which Caldari use for their tank.

Torps are pretty much unchanged against BS (you needed a painter for full damage and a web to hold your target in place before, and you still do afterwards), and the Cerberus is massively boosted, since range is now far harder to traverse, anything doing so with a MWD will take vastly more damage, and anything doing so with an AB, well, won't ever get there... Drake is pretty much unchanged also. Overall, a boost to missiles.

While it may become easier for caldari with this patch due to the speed people are quite right to worry that the missile nerf may ether negate their much needed buff or make things worse. Its true caldari do have some good ships with certain fits in certain situations, but they have major flaw's, pvp fleets of choose typically dont have many caldari in them. How many alliance torny winners fly caldari ships?
