I was curious about something.
According to this page EVE GM's are outsourced from SiTEL and work in Germany? I've always thought that EVE GM's are CCP employees who work in Reykjavik.

According to that same page it concerns GMs with "a special focus on increasing multilingual support". So the location in Germany will only be for GMs who offer support (mainly) in German, French and Russian. Makes perfect sense to me.

They are focused on the ticket quantity and not on the quality. The training isn't very good, you work together at open plan offices and the fluctuation of the staff is very high, due to the bad working conditions and the low salary.
I can everyone, who want to work as a GM, only advise to think about it twice.
Cheers.

Based on how fast petitions are answered, I can honestly say that CCP GMs are NOT paid according to ticket-load....

Just to clarify:
We have GM's working in Reykjavik, Atlanta, and Shanghai, who are all paid employees of CCP.
We also have GM's working in Dusseldorf, who work through Sitel.
GM's from all offices work on TQ, as well as some on Serenity.
I hope that clarifies it a bit more. --- GM Zhainius EVE Online Customer Support CCP Games |

Then I guess the ones that work in Germany are responsible for more generic petitions, whereas the GMS in Reykjavik are there to deal with community, translations and the like.

just to clarify your post, the community team handles its own petitions. many times our queue contains petitions that do not belong in our queue, but the GM queue. this is not an error with our system, but rather with players who misfile their petitions (e.g. a player files a lost ship petition with the community queue, rather than to the correct GM queue). when this happens, we (community) send the petition to the GM queue for the player, but failure to correctly file your petition can result in unintentional delays in obtaining a response from the correct team.

Well i must say the Gm staffs incompetence is second to none. Ive been told by Gms that missions do not drop my sec and ive seen that almost 90% of gms responding to petitions have no clue about how to play eve at all. They always use a generic response or they tend to use the logs as an excuse not to assit. There is a serious issue that CCP needs to look at with this problem.
OR it needs to review its employees. A corp that left an alliance i was at war with. i was told by a gm was a single corp i was at war with. he was totally clueless why i got the surrender mail. This total incompetence ontop of the fact that for some reason petition responses have character limits. God forbid u need to actually post something to a GM longer than 3 paragraphs. Since i started playing eve ive seen massive degredation of the quality of the GMS. THe log system is either totally worthless or the GMs dont know how to use it. Because often information that should be easily accessable to a GM is not. Ontop of the fact that CCp for some reason does not allow a GM to interact with you verbally unless you do so through a petition is totally stupid. If a GM is assiting you in local he should be able to get into a convo with you as they are all logged.
Please CCP do something about this complete failure in a large group of your staff. Because most of us dont even want to petition anymore. I avoid it at all costs. Due to the terrible support i have received, consistantly.

Do you work for Sitel? If so which one? Did you for it before or after Clientlogics merger. If before, I think you will see a big change from then to now. I also work for Sitel, not in Germany, in the US. I can tell you that if you had a manager that valued quanity over qaulity then you had a bad one. I can tell you that my manager does not care about quanity at all. He does not care if an agent handles one issue or 100 issues, as long as they where handled properly.
Now I just need to learn a foriegn language so I can transfer to Germany.

I'm going to have to stick up for SiTEL as well.
I still have a large number of friends who work the Kingston branch in the UK, and that's where I worked for 6 really enjoyable years. I presume the German branch works on a similar basis.
After the takeover by ClientLogic apparently things have become even better.
The comment above about training just isn't true. There's a huge amount of money pumped into training employees, and where training is cropped this is normally due to a client's request, not SiTEL's.
