Around 5000, although that might be an old number. They have added a bunch a while ago. |

Grismar's Eve Explorer says exactly 5100.

Other than the new Caldari low sec region, the regions they "added" were actually always there and were just opened up, so they still only have about the same as they did when EVE was first released.

5201 systems that are accessable by players. There are another hundred or so that are in Jove space which is inaccessable.

The number of solar systems currently in the database are 5431. Furthermore there are 786 constellations and 67 regions.
These numbers are from the latest database dump taken after the Empyrean Age expansion (so Black Rise is included).
Not all of these are accessible to players. Ki Anna's number seems correct regarding the number of systems that are accessible (although I count 5200).

Why is that surprising, we can't even agree how many planets are in Sol system.

I thought Pluto was de-classified as a planet a couple years ago?

Other than one wild guess by Blafam, all of the answers are in the same ballpark: ~5000.
Grismar's Explorer does not appear to contain the Black Rise region, so must be out of date.
As for the difference between Gieron's answer and mine, I would guess that he is getting his count by looking at the index contrastains on an array: an array with indexed 0 through 5200 contains 5201 elements.

When I look in the database, there are 5431 records of starsystems. Unless there have come new systems in the new expansion, I suppose that's the number we're looking at atm.

I see; never needed anything from Black Rise so didn't notice it being missing.

Indeed, there currently are only 8 planets in the solar system (the classic 9 minus Pluto). Pluto, Eris and a few other objects are dwarf-planets.

Has anyone visited them all? I've been to about 100. Thanks for the info on the Jove Empire I wondered why there were never any pilots there. |

A few persons visited all accessible solar systems. All it takes is a CovOps, plenty of time, and a lot of dedication

Found it. 5-3722 was missing. 5201 is indeed the correct number.
