Anyone notice that some of the moon minerals (Thulium) mentioned in the blog as being part of the new 'unrefined' reactions are not actually used in the reactions as put in game? I dont think Neodynium is used either but was mentioned in the blog as well... bug?

Check again. Thulium is used in Fluxed Condensates. Neodymium is used in Fluxed Condensates and Neo Mercurite.

The big problem is that the info's on the new unrefined reactions doesn't match the blog at all.
It was suppose to be: 100 min#1 + 100 min#2 = 100 unrefined. Then refine that to get 10 refined + 95% of min#2 returned
So then why am I looking at the info on the new reactions and it's saying 100 + 100 = 1 unrefined.
Huh? I've heard of ludicrous speed, does this qualify as ludicrous alchemy? That isn't 20:1 that's more like 200:1, isn't it? And it takes 10x longer to make it. Something is badly wrong somewhere.

Edited by: Fatsam on 12/11/2008 11:28:48 What size reactor do you use to run the reactions; does a simple one enable the 'unrefined' product to be made, or is a large reactor needed?
I presume you then take the unrefined stuff to a normal station refinery and you get 10 units from 100?

It was suppose to be: 100 min#1 + 100 min#2 = 100 unrefined (not 200 as with other simple reaction outputs). Then refine that to get 10 refined + 95% of min#2 returned Final formula: 100 min#1 + 5 min#2 = 10 refined output As you get 10 out, instead of 200 you can see the 20:1 ratio.
So then why am I looking at the info on the new reactions and it's saying 100 + 100 = 1 unrefined.

Let's take ferrofluid as an example. Currently it takes 100 hafnium and 100 dysprosium to make 200 ferrofluid. With the new reaction, you'll take 100 hafnium and 100 cadmium to make 100 unrefined ferrofluid, which can then be refined down to give 10 ferrofluid and 95 hafnium. The final ratios at the end of the process see you using 100 cadmium and 5 hafnium to create 10 ferrofluid, per cycle. The proportion of hafnium stays the same, but the amount of cadmium is 20 times the amount of dysprosium you'd normally use per unit, and it takes ten times longer to make 1000 units of ferrogel.
The four pairings are cadmium/dysprosium, vanadium/thulium, chromium/promethium and platinum/neodymium. The final output of each of the reactions will be ten units per cycle, and the common mineral always replaces the mineral at a 20:1 ratio.

well.. it boils down to what comes out of the refined stuff then, no? has anybody brought that to a station yet? - putting the gist back into logistics |

Interesing...I would like to know too if anyone in whole eve has done this yet lol

I think its obvious what happened.
Some one at CCP owns a good moon and ask the boss to nerf the new reactions.
Im not being a smart alec here. given CCPs history of cheating devs this seems likely.
If you think corp is different than a guild or clan you have some insecurity issues.

Still waiting an official CCP response or someone to post here and say what he got from reprocessing the unrefined stuff.

Just like it says in the blog that things may change and nothing is set in stone, these numbers did change prior to release. The alchemy reactions use inputs of 100 hafnium and 100 cadmium and output 1 unit of unrefined ferrofluid which will reprocess to 10 ferrofluid and 95 hafnium.

To be fair, in these cases you should probably go back and edit the original blog with an update. Otherwise it's pointless looking at dev blogs for any information.

I think you may be missing the point of a blog. They aren't documentation. That's what the ... ehr... ehm... the ... ... is for.

I know, it may be a new idea, but developers' blogs are not there to "look for information", they are there so people could get very basic guidelines to future development of EVE, plus to give us something to throw DRAMA BOMBS around. It's a hint, about drama bombs:)

Thank you for the response. I just build up a medium pos with the unrefined dysporite reaction. The result is 1 unit of unrefined dysporite every 60 minutes, using 100 cadmiun and 100 mercury. Then I reprocessed the single unit of unrefined dysporite at the station and it gave me 10 units of dysporite and 95 of mercury. It was a very nice idea to compress in such way the unrefined stuff, because on a gallente tower it will take 40000 hours to fill the silo
You should do the same with all the other pos materials
