The lag monster sayeth different. Mmm, not really, all they have to do is add more nodes. As long as the maximum number of players per system doesn't increase too much, they're good. I think they're pretty confident about their new ultra-AntiLagTastic stackless thingy. And each 64-bit node can support many more players per system anyway (2x? More?). If they've already bought the new hardware, then that would explain this move. They can support more concurrent players and they are chasing more subs because of it.

Either someone is desperate, or CCP must really be scraping the barrel. Also selling a Boxed game of one you can DL online is plain fail. Material costs, logistics, etc, CCP is going down the hole on this one.

I don't see any indication that they will have any influence on the game itself. Logistics deployables mean less grind and more pewpew!

We've all seen how CCP has been spreading banners and stuff all over the web (very attractive banners, I must add), but I think that the marketing department is looking for better results to keep subscription numbers on the increase. Solution: Team up with a decent publisher that won't devour the company. -----

Unfortunately, Atari hasn't exactly proven themselves to be good at making sure that boxes get to where they need to be on time, they recently decided to not distribute boxes for the new LOTRO expansion (which is due out in the us on the 18th nov) to the Oceanic region. I want to be able to buy a boxed copy of eve, but i dont think atari is gonna be capable of making sure that all parts of the world get those boxes. ccp, please rethink the decision to use atari, or make them sign a contract forcing them to distribute to oceania so those of us here in nz and aus dont have to order from overseas (even though that often works out cheaper) so that we can have a boxed copy. and yes, i do know that i could just download it, but i like to have install disks, so that re installing when i format my computer or get a new hard drive doesnt take me 2 days and my entire monthly datacap and i am sure that most new zealanders and australians feel the same way.

Right, because having a box on a shelf next to other MMOs like WoW or GuildWars has absolutely no chance of increasing visibility and subscription sales on a game that stands out from the rest of the fantasy setting pack by virtue of its Space aspects. Don't ever go into marketing as you obviously have no understanding of the role of visibility and uniqueness in driving sales. Ads on tv cost millions, boxes cost nearly nothing to make and ship. Use your brain, please.
