What dump are you using? the one from CCP? Because that's not MySQL.
go here http://wiki.eve-id.net/CCP_Database_Dump_Resources and scroll down to "Conversions" or just go to http://eve.no-ip.de/ea111/_README_FOR_THE_EASILY_CONFUSED.html and get the one that says "YOU ARE PROBABLY LOOKING FOR THIS ONE!"
Hopefully that will help :)

You can download the MySQL administrator and remotely import it into the database.
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/gui-tools/5.0.html
You will need to set phpMyAdmin to allow a connection from your IP address.
You haven't specifically mentioned doing this, but if you are attempting to import the .sql file itself, you won't get anywhere. Compress the file into a .zip or .gz format. phpMyAdmin should accept that.

Hi Mika,
I had to do mine via SSH and mysql from the command prompt on my server. PHPMyAdmin has major issues with even 10MB SQL files.
You might want to look up the mysql.exe or the linux mysql commands More specifically USE database and SOURCE sqldata.sql
These two commands will get the SQL imported. How you connect to mysql is another story dependant on your server / OS.

I am rather confused on that. how would i call that via sql statement this is what i got <? $sql="SELECT * FROM chrraces"; $result=mysql_query($sql); //while loop etc... ?>
how would i do that?? something like
<? $sql="SELECT * FROM chrRaceSkills.skillTypeID = invTypes.typeID"; // OREDER BY id DESC is order result by descending $result=mysql_query($sql);
?>

<? $sql="SELECT * FROM chrRaceSkills,invTypes where skillTypeID = typeID"; $result=mysql_query($sql);
?>
That should be close got to do a join in the where clause if using implied join like I did or you can use the other style which I can't think of off the top of my head. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Been known to write some PHP code for API from time to time too. |

yeah what i did gave me a Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result error which is because of the cap letters and the database having lowercase ill try your's now. and see how that works for me so dont stray to far from this topic >.< Welcome to Madam's World |

Think you need to check out stuff here. Has area with some of the queries people have developed and shared.

There's several php libraries that you can use listed there that you can use. I happen to have made one of the latest ones listed btw ;) but I'm currently in a development cycle to get rid of it's dependence on PEAR packages which makes it harder to use on shared servers. Currently have all but CharacterSheet skills and AssetList working but should have them fixed in a week or so. The fix for AssetList is already in a branch of svn just need to finish bringing it into trunk and do final testing on it. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. now i see Class.php and some others like the class.api.php class.corporationsheet.php class.alliancelist.php
do i have to include it into the site in order to get player information
like in eve has or the battle clinic to return player information

I'd use a require or require_once but yes. The one I've developed is Yapeal and it made to be run in a crontab but can also be ran from command line which I use during testing or could be called in other ways. I've only glanced at the others a little so someone else would be better source on how to use them. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. well i am deving on my localhost windows at the moment. also is crontab part of cron jobs?
all i want to do is to be able to get player information but i guess that has to be done with api and is not in the data dumps? Welcome to Madam's World |

Yeah the skill tree is in static dumps but you get your character's known skills form API.
I'm sure that Yapeal can be wrapped in a BAT or CMD file and ran as long is all the paths and other stuff are setup right but since I've always used it on linux server never made one. If someone was to come up with one I'd be glad to include with Yapeal. Once you have the BAT or CMD file you should be able to run it as a scheduled task with windows. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. # backend/ # cache/ # class/ # config/ # db-tools/ # inc/ # log/
folders as well?

Easiest way to use it is to make a folder for it name yapeal or something put everything from svn into it then copy the yapeal.ini-example file to yapeal.ini in config and read it and make changes as needed. the only file that needs to be run is backend/eve-api-pull.php in crontab/whatever and yes once you start using api it starts to get more complex but the libraries do make it easier.
I need to update/include more user docs but been busy trying to get everything working here lately -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. Been known to write some PHP code for API from time to time too. |

Not sure how you get that it's not in API. I think the way people get it is by acting like they are eve client connecting and server sends it out before the login part then you just drop connection. You'll have to find that out from someone that has used it. I didn't in what I was doing. -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. you can mod this to show me
<? $sql="SELECT * FROM chrRaceSkills,invTypes where skillTypeID = typeID"; $result=mysql_query($sql);
?> <?php while($rows=mysql_fetch_array($result)){ // Start looping table row ?> <? echo "<img src=img/bullet.png><a href=skills.php?Node=". $rows['typeID'] .">". $rows['typeName'] ."</a><br>"; ?> <? } ?> Welcome to Madam's World |
