Every time someone docks with a POD and no ship is in the station you automatically get a noobship and a mail saying you just got a noobship. I find it rather annoying and the first thing I do when I dock is trash the noobship and delete the mail.
What if this was optional?
Eg:
- when you dock you get a popup asking if you want the noobship or
- you can rclick on your pod and select "request noobship". No ship should be present in station when using this.
I prefer the last one as its annoyance-factor is a minimum. Just add information about this to Aura tutorials so noobs, who need this more than anyone else, can learn where to claim their noobship.
I highly doubt this will be abused for the 1 trit you get, so I don't see any exploits with this system.
No more mr obvious blinky mails.
No more unecessary noobships created.

the only time i get given a noobship is when one of my ships exploded and i docked. i cant remember the last time that happened.

PvPers always say "GB2WoW". the message is that EVE is hard, and people just need to deal with it. wasn't it funny how when nano's started making it hard for *them*, that all went out the window? |

For you perhaps but it isn't the only case where you get a noob ship. A dev recently posted saying they wanted to reduce unnecessary evemails, this is one solution :) .

Give the question when you dock in a station with no ships. Allow the right click spawn for those times when you want a noobship instead of the other ships you have in the station, unless you already have a noobship there.

Hell, instead of a pop-up just make it an option in the menu system. If you are in dire need of a noobship with it off, just switch it on and it does a check on current station and hands you one if you need it. I find it annoying when I travel to another system to purchase a new ship (I like to be in the station where it will arrive) and am given the noobboat.
