Of course, everyone does. I'd love to give my ship a new paintjob, or at least choose from various different skins. But we should be able to turn the feature off for fleet battles.

I want a serpentis thorax. Color alone would do it for me. Decals would be cool as well. ~{When evil and strange get together anything is possible}~ A tool is only useless when you don't know how to use it. - ActiveX The grass is always greener on the other side. - JoCool |

It could be good to customize the colours of a ship but be advised if too much customitzation is done to the ships, it will increase the lag, and will decrease the performance in some computers -----------------------------

i think customisation is a gud idea but i wouldnt expect ccp to give too much in the way of body work like extra wings etc or there wouldnt be that much point of them designing the ship in the first place

Edited by: JoCool on 06/07/2004 21:29:11 If CCP released 20 different skins (and more in updates) for most ships and you could choose one it would be great. They'd be stored in the cache and your client would just request what number of skin the other one has. For performance issues you could easily disable the feature in the options menu.
Sounds good?

I think something that is totally custom will never see the light of day due to lag and such.
I do think a nice large library downloaded onto everyones machine with a large selection of material (much like the portrait customization) to choose from.
It would really be uber if a corp could create its own logo and then have that as a decal for its ships. The logos would have to be a certain size ect and then submitted to an ISD like crew for approval. After that it would be added to the eve database or something technical...
There would have to be a way to limit the influx of noob corps getting a logo in, perhaps the corp would have to have a certain amount of members or be a certain age. Something like that..

It would be uber cool to choose from different colors. As far as logos go, i think you should just have the option of sticking your corp logo on the side. These are already in the eve library and pre-approved.

OK here is a hypothetical question: would you still want to be able to customize your ship if NO one else could ever see it? What I mean is that everyone sees the standard model on everyone else's ship but their own ship is skinned.
This would eliminate the lag issue but would it also eliminate the appeal?

Sure, I'd like it... But I would probally just paint my ship black... along with 99.9% of the playerbase...
