I have a question, when I refine it uses my standings to give me more minerals, I had the idea that the best standing, me or the corp was supposed to be used.
But as far as I know only mine is used, is this a bug or did I miss something, if that's the case what do you use corp standing for?

Currently your corp's standings won't actually have any real bearing on anything you do in-game, though it may in the future. It does help show up friends or foes on the scanner, but beyond that, it won't help with your refining or much else.
Someone on these forums had an exact number, I believe it was around the 6.5 standing mark, where if you have that much standing yourself with the corp whose station you're refining at, you'd get 0% taken when reprocessing there.

Currently your corp's standings won't actually have any real bearing on anything you do in-game, though it may in the future. It does help show up friends or foes on the scanner, but beyond that, it won't help with your refining or much else.
Someone on these forums had an exact number, I believe it was around the 6.5 standing mark, where if you have that much standing yourself with the corp whose station you're refining at, you'd get 0% taken when reprocessing there.

What about Connections skill? Shouldn't this be taken into account when refining/recycling. Currently, it does not appear to, just takes your base standings into account.

I was wondering about that also. I got a 0.03 standing towards the corp i'm trying to refine my stuff at and connections lvl 5. In connections in the info screen it shows me that i got 2.03 standing towards that corp. But when i try to refine it says i got 0.03 and takes 5% of. That doesn't sound right...

I believe that the magic number here is a standing of 6.7 to the corporation. At that standing they take nothing for themself. Then the only loss is a result of your refining skills. There ia also a diference in the base refining of the various corporations. 50% is the highest. i.e. At a navy station with a base refine of 50%, with 6,7 standing to that corp, refine efficieny at lvl 4 with at least lvl 1 in the type of ore you are processing, there will be no loss and nothing held back = Perfect Refine.

You are correct.... 6.7 is the magic number. The question was though, why isn't your Connections Skill taken into account when considering your standings for recycling/refining?

from what i understand the connection's is a bonus to the standing of that corp for personal use(i.e player to npc char agent) and isn't counted when using unmanned thing's like refinaries.
the corp standing is still un-used, and all the social skill's don't work with station's only agents

NOT true.. your corp's standing towards an agent, agents corp OR agents faction make you able to use an agent even if u dont have good enough standting toward that agent/corp/faction yourself..

sorry oddie, but kings right(my experiance came from doing agent mission lvl3's about 2 weeks ago) corp standing aren't used ingame yet, my corp standing with fleet republic is like 6.5 or 7 but only people with a personal standing or faction standing can do the missions, also, i haven't got access to a lvl2 agent, yet my corp has a standing of about 5 with them which should be enough for a lvl3 agent.
so no oddie, corp standing aren't in effect YET, but i heard rumour's that they will be out during/just after shiva client update soon
