Did anyone else notice that they took the 90% domination webs that we paid top $$ for and made them LESS effective than the previously 75% TS webs that costs almost half of what domination webs did? ____________________________________________

Edited by: Caina Staras on 13/11/2008 08:37:02 actualy its NOT mentioned in the patch notes btw, it just says changes to fittings were made and officer web range was reduced to 20km max and 55-60% effectiveness. It nowhere mentions that previously 90% webs were now 50% and 75% webs were now 55%. It doesn't matter if it was in the Dev blog it needs to be in the patch notes.

saying it needs to be in the patch notes so you can screw people over before they themselves read them will not win you this arguement.

that wasnt my point the point is that CCP needs to take the time to keep the people who pay their salaries informed of ALL of the changes they make in every patch. Relying on months old dev blogs to inform the consumer of changes is a horrible PR plan. Not that CCP has ever had decent public relations to begin with, many of its GMs are rude and half the time you cant even get a real person to answer a petition without sending 3 messages you just get a copy pasted generic response which sometimes doesn't even have anything to do with your petition.
I really dont care about the web changes, i don't pvp, nor do i play market games, or mission. Web changes in no way affect mining and building, which is what most of my eve time involves. This is more about CCP having common respect for the people who support their game to take the time to inform their paying customers as to what they are doing.

CCP did inform its 'paying customers', you were just too lazy to read it.

Caina, it's not really reasonable to ask such a thing.
Do you realise how much bugfixes and tweaks each patch consist of? Well, I don't think you do, as you expect it all to be put straight out.. but well, there's loads. Loads.
Patchnotes gives the big picture, but each patch that comes out has loads of stealthfixed things in them. Not only in EVE, same goes for WAR, WoW, EQ, SWG, Lineage, hell whichever game you want to mention.
In the case of these webs, there was mentions in the dev blogs, at least twice, that webs were going to change. The latest one even stated the changes in meta on them. The current state of the faction webs has been on SiSi for weeks, if not months (I am too lazy to look it up atm). This really is one of the cases where CCP considered this to be a big enough change to actually tell us the details, and we knew exactly what was going to happen, well in advance.
Dev blogs, patch notes, SiSi, all well in time. What more do you want? More details? All details? It would be unrealistic to have it all listed, and the constant flood of massive information would make it even easier to fail to keep track of what's going on.

I think its entirely reasonable to expect such a major change to the game which has a serious impact considering it drasticaly changes not only the way the game works but also the economy of the game and penalizes people for spending their isk to have the best they can by making somethign they saved isk for worthless (because seriously the fitting requirements dont mean ****, no one ever said well Ill drop the domi web because its fittings are too high and keep the t2 trackign disruptor(other random module tahts not important)).
If they can take the time to inform us of something as pointless as this
The text on page 3 of the tutorial named "Character sheet advanced information" has been modified to say ôplug inö rather than ôInsertö for implants.
then they can take the time to inform via the patch notes about a major change to one of the more expensive and widely used faction items in the game. the fact is CCP is lazy at informing its customers of ANYTHING. They dragged out for almost a year that their new stackless I/o system with no progress reports of any kind other than that they were "working on something and didnt know when it would be ready"
I agree completely with their desire to rebalance the game, it was broken and needed it. I don't agree with their horrible customer service and lack of communication with the community. Secondly i would like you to point out to me where in any dev blog that has been published in the last 3 months and can be viewd at this time the speed rebalance is even mentioned. the blog in july that originaly pointed to the re-balance mentions a reduction and nothing more. Month old blogs are not a reasonable way of informing users of changes. Nor is the fact that it might have been on singuarlity for months, i dont pay ccp to play on singularity i pay to play on tranquility i dont have the time to spend wasting my time on singularity to find every change that CCP has made because they dont want to take the time to inform anyone of it.
This is a fairly major change and deserved far more attention and detail in the patch notes than many of the things that are so poinltess they are barely even worth mentioning.

hehe its called speculation. after each patch some ships prices go up. modules change and are more or less worth. If your keen and alert you can anticipate on these changes.
