I was told that when assigning the launched drones to aid an ally, they lose their 5% damage bonus because they are inspired to fight by another vessel.
I chose the NYX specifically for the drone bonus.
The stronger damage per drone is fatal but, not if my targetting systems slow down my ability to make them fight.
Assigning them to aid an ally is a big deal!
Do I lose the only bonus that sets me apart from the other mother ships just because I choose to assign?

Correct damage bonus only applies when your personally controlling drone not assigning them.

It is true they lose their bonuses when assigned to somebody else.
Why? I don't know. I think assigned fighters use the skills of the pilot they were assigned too as well.

I have no idea if this is true but does it really matter.
You can only assign 5 per person anyhow and if you just wanted to hide away and assign you drones buy and fit 10 carriers for the same price.
A nyx is a show piece get it out their right in there faces
you can't be jammed and make your support primary the dictors.
Then you can leave if it gets hairy.

This is correct.
For example, a recipient requires drones 5 to be assigned 5 fighters. So im guessing other skills may apply aswell..

also, it's true. Nyx bonus is for people that actually put their ship on the front line. Of course.. the Hel is basically the same in that respect. Then again the tanking boni for the aeon and wyvern don't really do much either unless you're in combat..

In any case, fighters don't get any bonus from any skills other than the fighter and carrier skills.. I'm actually not sure if, should the assignee have the fighter skill, the fighters assigned actually get a bonus, but that's pretty easy to test on sisi.
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me..

When you delegate the fighters.
The Nyx bonus is lost, and so is your dmg bonus from Fighters skill.
Motherships belongs on the frontline. Use it there.

what if the perso has fighters trained? do they get the 20% bonus per level?

like the ship bonus, the fighter damage bonus is spacific to the operating pilot and is lost when assigned.
Its risk to reward.

Fighter skill on character delegated too will affect them.
Same with their other drone skills.

you have / are planning to fly a nyx and you're worrying about the drone bonus?
