Edited by: Kavin Alavandar on 15/11/2008 17:22:06 I can get the two images to overlap to some extent, but not merge completely. I wonder if my -2.25 astigmatism could have something to do with it. _______________________________________________ 'The illiterate of this century are not those who cannot read and write; but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.' |

i've got -3 astig as well and I'm having trouble getting these to overlap fully. The link to show you how to do it works like a charm but I don't think these images are quite right to give you the correct effect. ------------------------------------

Edited by: Kravick Drasari on 15/11/2008 23:31:36 These images are awesome. The problem I am having now is after looking at all of them I am having trouble seeing the real world as it should be. My eyes keep wanting to cross on their own and everything seems out of focus and I keep seeing double of everything. |

Ok the trick to make these stereo screenshots is simple
We can see 3D because our eyes have a few cm distance from each other.... the image of our left eye is slightly different from the image of our right eye.... you can see that if u place your finger 20 cm from your face and leave one of your eyes open each time... the difference is between the right eye image and left eye image is obvious...
these differences proccesed by our brain give us the 3D sight we all have...
with 3d images on 2D monitors we try to simulate this effect....
so... we go in stations for example and we look our ship... we find a good position of the screenshot we want to make...
we press print screen button.... and we take a this screen shot....
now we need the second image...
we move the camera... slightly to the left... and we take another screen shot...
now we are ready to make our 3d screenshot
we make it by puting the 1st (right) image to the left... and the 2nd (left) image to the right.....
now.. when we crossed our eyes... the left eye will see the the left image... and the right eye will see the right image... and give us the the 3D prespective....
I'll be happy to see your creations

Absolutely and utterly awesome. My brother does a lot of these things with two cameras that he has interconnected on a metal bar, and have hotwired the "take picture" buttons of. He makes beautiful 3D pictures with those. The freakiest was a real close up on a wasp O.o

My SteroScopic Viewer went out of fashion in 1880, and i havent bothered to replace it since, meanwhile my Awsome Muttonchops have still remained Popular.
I was hoping this would be a rad 'magic Eye' picture thread

Right, I've been trying to make those images for a while now, just can't seem to get it to work. My images end up totally nberblurred :/
I'm using premium though, and the view keeps dancing a slight bit.

It is possible. 3D LCD Monitor would ahve to get used to the edges of the picture being fuzzy though.

Well played. It's about time I put something sensible in here, but I couldn't really come up with something so you'l have to do with this. Are you like really bored, or did you not notice this is my sig? |

Edit: I read the rest of the posts sounds like a few are having a hard time doing this. I have been very good at this since i was like 10 years old. try tilting your head back and forth if your having a hard time getting it to lock in focus.
I was pretty good with this when I was a kid too. Back then I had 20/20 vision and no astigmatism. Most of the official Magic Eye pictures work but the 2 images don't overlap correctly. I can see them in 3D but I see 2 sets of the images. Kind of weird to explain...meh ------------------------------------

I can do the regular ones where there is a picture interlaced with another.. but 2 pictures side by side to make a third.. WTF?
I am good with 'Magic EyE' pictures.. make some of those. |

that's ****ing awesome man! the mega is driving on me
you need to cross eyes by looking close at your nose... you'll see 3 pictures in the background, keep the eye position and focus out (towards the screen)... you will see one curved 3D mega
confirmed, the effect is pretty cool... but the eyes feel strange afterwards |

But it doesn't look very real--more like a cutout.
The only way to make real-looking stereoscopic images is to have two cameras next to each other (like eyes).
