How dealy is an assault frigate ?
I wanted to go fly an Enyo, but I am not sure, I can take on cruisers. Skills aside, is the Enyo a good choice to cause havoc in low-sec? I want it to be a hit-and-run operation.
How big ships can I expect to be able to take on? Battlecruisers? If a battleship can't hit me, can I break it's tank?

Depends on the idiocy factor of your target.

I flew assault frigates before the patch, and I've done some "testing" after the patch. Specifically on the enyo.
It is definitely true that AF's are much better now. An AB Enyo can take out cruisers for sure, HAC's are possible if the pilot is kinda dumb, but I wouldn't count on it really. They really do shine in low sec for hit and runs, they easily can tackle and destroy pretty much any tech 1 frigate.
As for how big you want to take on, it really depends. Drakes are possible, but its difficult to break the tank, and its annoying to sit there while he can't hit you, and you can't break him. Makes you look kinda stupid... As for battleships, same thing applies, it really depends on the persons skills and fitting, but I would recommend that you engage any bc or bs you see, and if you can't break its tank, or its breaking you, just gtfo and don't waste your time while he might be calling in reinforcements.
Also, most people will tell you to fly an Ishkur, but stick with the enyo, cause its pink. Your signature is too large. Please resize it to a maximum of 400 x 120 with the file size not exceeding 24000 bytes. If you would like further details please mail [email protected]

Thanks for the constructive answer.
I will give it a try. I am always assuming that pilots are not idiots when engaging, but sometimes I get pleasently surprised. Appearently the idiots mostly hang out on the forums!
I was asking because I don't have much knowledge of the Enyo, but I like the ship and want to give it a try for solo pvp.

First of all, Ishkur is much better. Equivalent tank, equivalent DPS, plus it can fit a web and can carry ECM drones.
You can take out pretty much anything larger than a frigate, provided you actually manage to get in close with an AB + 9km and orbit at very close range, at which point medium guns will not track you. Some people (like Merin) question how feasible this will be. Remember to overload your scram for more range. However, a successful ECM drone cycle will cause you to die as your target, now able to MWD and unwebbed, MWDs away from you and gets some good transversal in at which point guns will kill you. Neutralizers work much in the same way (but are more dangerous because they also disable your AB) so I would fit a small nos to keep your cap up (and the small Nos's cycle time makes it very useful - 3 seconds for a nos cycle, about 12 for a medium neut and more than 20 for a heavy).
Kill drones as quickly as you can, watch out for drone boats (who will likely have bonused warrior IIs AND multiple neuts, which will spell doom for you very quickly), and see how it works.
Good luck! __________________________________

Basically the only problem I'd have with an enyo is the fact you really want to fit blasters to make your dps rather high, which means you need to get close. That can be rather hard versus other AFs which can shoot at 8-10km and have the same AB+scram+web setup you have.
Other than that, go for it, AFs can be very effective.

Don't expect to kill every cruiser you come across.
You'll want to be wary of any of the drones boats or combat cruisers. The gunboats especially if they are plated and packing undersized guns. A plated Vexor/Arb will eat you alive, as would a shield buffer Caracal with assault launchers.

You might get a BS if your lucky and you happen to come come accross one with the wrong fit (and i dont mean definitely a bad fit) for example about 6 months ago my mate and i killed abaddon with a jag, enyo and an alt in a falcon. While in itself this might not sound impressive the actual killing was done just by my jag with the falcon (which was an odd setup with a point) and enyo (only had a web) waiting on the other side of the gate (he was a pirate so engaging on gate was ok) incase he tried to run (which he did several times). The abaddon had no web and was setup to tank amarr gate guns (em and thermal damage) while ganking people he could not hit the assualt frig and did not have a decent explosive resistance so over about 30 minutes i took him down all the damage coming from the jag.

This.
Most targets will make the gate, swarm you with lights, neut you, or have a friend your not orbiting kill you.
People with no friends, no tank, no drones, and no neuts will die horribly though.

remember though that they reduced tracking of medium drones making them easier to tank give you more time to pop them against ships w/o bonuses, and light drones will still sting but will be poppable, especially in an ishkur where you can just sick your lights on theirs.
