Huh, I wonder why they don't have it set up so that they just tick a box on the post menu to lock it and post the reply at the same time like other forums do.

This, or more importantly pilot opens a reply query, mod locks thread, pilot posts.
You can post in those threads quite a while after it's been locked.

You can post in those threads quite a while after it's been locked.
They changed that, now if you try to leave a post window open and go afk it just gives you the 'trying to post in a locked thread' message.
