No really, Despite my Subject head- I'm serious.
I'd like to see a percentage so as to not have to keep the window open. As it stands right now my screen (1680x1050) With the overview on the right side, Chats on left side and system information. etc (local always needs its own window) is just too cluttered to keep cargo bay window open.
I would love to see a buff to the cargo bay window, maximized/minimized shouldn't matter.
E.g it reads now:
MY CARGO [7]
I'd like it to read:
MY CARGO [7] 5,000/20,000m3 (25%)
Simple change, more informative - less screen space wasted. Maybe even a bar below the current HUD (turn it on or off available inside general settings etc.) with a percentile in the middle.

I like the idea of adding that kind of information - while not addign to screen clutter.
But why even have a cargo hold window open at all? Instead, why not see if we can't get the cargo hold icon )in the HUD( to be shaded like a pie-chart... as hold fills, pie slice grows..
or, probably easier, why not make use of one of the cycle rings such as is used to show the cycle times on active modules?
sure, won't give exact percentage, but will show pretty clearly how much room you have...without cluttering the display with even a minimized window |

further -
actually, on the basis of running conversations with other pilots.. the consensus seems to be that the most desired configuration would be to use the cycle ring around the cargo icon, with the actual percentage appearing on mouseover.
Same scheme could be used (as you pointed out) with the scanner and autopilot icons...

Yup. though i'm greedy and still want my buff too (honestly! itll be like 5seconds of coding.)
It's one of those changes that has more time spent discussing it then coding it. ;)
