Just an update. I'll be working to expand this tread into an archive of my own guides as soon as I can. I'm currently in the middle of moving.
Please keep the suggestions coming guys!

Only the Tech II laser crystals degrade. Tech I laser crystals will remain in working order forever. ;)
I'd also suggest you make it clearer in the character creation section that you can train any skill in the game with any character, provided you have the prerequisite skills - choosing "Mining" or "Combat" doesn't lock you into that profession at all. ----------

Cavri: I haven't. I never thought of it before, but I will look into that. It is, however, in the process of being hosted on mmorpg.com
Poly: Thank you for the input, I will correct the guide to reflect those changes. :-)
Thank you both!

I am sorry to be critical because you have writen a very helpfull guide all in all but I think it could be improved a little in one place. Be aware however that my experiance of being a new player was before a lot of changes. Like the SP boost to new players. The general ship HP boost and a lot of mission ballencing.
Ok so reasons to ignore me asside I think you might want to include some reasons for new players to not train destroyers. Dont get me wrong. They look sexy and can be a lot of fun to fly. But they are primarily gunships and the sp a new player puts into light turrets and the destroyer skill itself will be waisted once they get into a cruser to do level 2 missions. Which shouldnt realy take very long at all. Whats more any turret support skils which destroyers do benefit from imensly, will also be waisted if their first cruser uses misciles or drones. Both of which require a lot less SP and skill to get effective use out of and so make excelent choices for new players once they are in their first cruser.
Level one missions can even be harder to do in a destroyer then a frigate as the extra hit points dont count for much when your a larger slower target and the destroyers grate alpha strike often wont help low sp players do much more damage to compensate as their fitting and support skills will hurt their ability to use long range turrets and their navigation skills may not be enough to get a destroyer at optimal range quickly. Of course once their destroyer skill is at level 4 the ships bonuses will more then make up for its short comings in level one missions. But at this point they will probably be ready to move up to a cruser and not make use of that skill again untill they have settled into eve and feel like playing around in destroyers for fun rather then profit.
Ok thats my advice. Probably outdated or just plane wrong but its out there for you to consider at any rate. It is always darkest just before the dawn. Wise man say this best time to steal neighbors newspaper. |

I see where you are coming from and I will give some thought to the topic in general but, overall I have to respectfully disagree.
I, for one, think that destroyers get a bum rap for no good reason.
I personally used my destroyer well into my lvl 2 mission days and was very happy with its performance.
But, I will do a little research and possibly add a note mentioning that some think it to be a waste to spend a lot of time training up those skills early on.
Thank you for your thoughts though! :-)
