So I had this char price checked and had 4 offers of 15 Bil BO almost right away. So what I was thinking was a Lotto-
Using the U.K. National lotto 'Bonus Ball' Link to U.K. National Lotto as the winner as in other lottos for expensive ships/ Mods.
So my Proposal is this:
The Winner Will receive this char Link to Char And 5 Bil I.S.K.
The reasoning behind the math is: Char (15 BIL) and 5 Bil = ~20 BIL plus for winner and 29 Bil for me for running this. A 60/40 split.
There will be 49 chances at 1 Bil each- After the last ticket is bought I will confirm the Lottery valid and the next drawing of the U.K. National Lotto the 'Bonus Ball' will determine the winner.
If it appears that after a reasonable amount of time has passed and there is no hope of completing this lotto all monies will be returned to submitting characters.
All payments must be made to pantheera as per new rules to ensure that the char has a positive wallet. When you submit purchase of a ticket, please state which number you are requesting and any duplicates will be awarded on a time of posting priority.
Char has a sec Status of -1.1 which means she can go anywhere in empire.
She will be in a starter corp upon completion of Auction and located in high sec.
She will come with some assets. Whatever shes got at the time of the lottos conclusion.
Be Advised:
There are no returns of funds unless I cancel the Lotto.
There is no Switching numbers after submitted.
There is also no limit to the number of tickets you wish to buy.
There is no reserving a number or numbers without payment.

What happens if only a few persons enter?
Lets say 5 persons enter the lottery for 1 ticket each, will you still give the winner 5bil + character even if you lose the character and gain nothing?
Interesting way of selling a char, even tho i dont like the skill layout it could be a good deal if only few enters.

So it appears that few are willing to take a chance on a great char (82 skills at level 5 ) I'm sure with the first few purchased tickets this lotto will take off.

if you manage to sell all your tickets at 750 mil you make 36.75 billion thats minus 15 bil for the char and 5 bil as part of the deal leaving you with a spare 16.75 bil meaning you make double what your char is worth. you'd get more people buying tickets if you sold them at a more reasonable price. i'm not having a go at you this is a good idea. just needs to be cheaper per ticket i worked the value out at around 410 mil per ticket. which multiplied by 49 is around the 20 bil mark. also there is a wednesday draw and a saturday draw for the english lotto not to mention all the different draws they acctually do. which draw is yours based on and what date is the draw.

Because this is an uncharted water, my belief was that regardless of the final math if the price was compared to what people had available to spend on characters, a 1 bil price per ticket was not unreasonable. people are here to get a char. If im already to buy a char for 15 Bil, whats 1 bil on a chance. I've still got 14 bil. Your looking at it from the wrong angle. You want the total of tickets to equal the chars price? Why? The point is you dont sell something for less because you can. you should try to get what you can for it. If it dosent work then lower.
If I had sold 10 Tickets on the first day, I would have changed the character Bazzar to a whole new place. All characters would be worth the time to develop them. In the end yes, I would be a rich player. But I also figured this would work only the first time and subsequent auctions would have to be lower in ticket price. It took nearly 24 hrs before I was copied. Alas I had no responses not because people wernt intrigued , just because it hadnt been done before. They were unsure.
So I missed my chance at a large pay-day. It dosent mean that the lotto for chars is broke, just the first one.

After I read your thread I decided to copy the idea because I know out there, there are people with a lot less sp training the very same skills mingerss already has. I also know that not every new player (or old) can afford to shell out the asking price. So what a bargain for a new player (or old) to risk such a small and easy amount of isk to get on a 1 in 49 chance of winning a good character. (Based on a 6 number lottery you have a 1 in 13,983,816 chance of winning the UK National Lottery.)
I actually went to the Mining and Manufacturing channel in game and researched what people would be willing to pay per ticket. Unfortunately non of those people have seen my thread yet?!
All I know is, I would gamble 200m for a chance at good return! As I have done in the past with shares with my main character.
My apoloigies if I have destroyed this brilliant idea. |

I just spoke with an ISD and GM about Character Lotteries, their reply was:
[15:07:36] ISD Modicus > mingress, you can transfer characters as long as ye pay the the fee to have them moved. How you choose to allow this seems to be up to you, check the character bazaar forums for more details on these rules.
