Originally by: CCP Fendahl The intended price of the low-end faction cruisers was about 20-25m when we created the ships. However to make sure the ships got out in time for the Empyrian Age release, we had to cut the blueprints since we are short on time. Because of this, only direct ship exchange offers will be available initially, but we will roll out the BPC offers in one of the EA point releases. The reason why the cruisers ended up at 90k LP is that the equivalent frigate offer is at 80K and we didn't feel comfortable releasing cruiser offers that were cheaper than the frigate offers. We will however revise the LP costs after the patch once we have resources for it, and I would expect that the prices will end up at roughly 20-25m as intended. Not an ideal situation, but unfortunately we can't do anything about the prices until the point release.
almost half a year later and you didn't find the time to adjust some LP values? because let's face it, terrible frigates for 40m, and tier 1 navy cruisers about on par with tier 3 T1 ones for 80m+ isn't such an awesome deal no matter how you look at it, especially if you admit having planned the new ships to be in the 25m range originally |

Prices are what people make of it. Not their fault they want more ISK than ccp says. |

yes it is. the LP prices don't scale with the other items and it is CCP who set the prices and promised a "look into", but i guess since it does actually improve things without nerfing several others, it was put on the backburner (at least long enough until they figure out how to nerf several other things in the process) |

actually, items don't have a fantasy price based on what people want for them because on the market you can't just ask for a a huge premium when your competition can sell more items if they sell closer to build cost
navy faction ships don't exist in a vacuum, 1 LP is worth 1k ISK or less, the BPC offer is 30k LP + 10m ISK + mats for a navy frigate (100k/20m for the tier 2 cruiser and 500k/200m for the battleship) which puts it somewhere around 40m (120m/700m). Direct LP-for-full-ship offers are about twice as expensive except for the battleship that's about equally cheap (600k LP + 100m ship + nexus chip).
We do not only lack the BPC offer for the navy tier 1 cruisers which was promised for "after the [Empyrean Age] patch", the LP costs are still unchanged as well, so 80/90/250/600 thousand LP for the four navy ships since Empyrean Age launched. And since the navy tier 1 cruiser can only be obtained from the full-ship offer for 90k LP, that's about four times the "intended price" as posted by CCP Fendahl. CCP sets the LP cost, so it is their fault that these ships cost so much. |

If you ask me, the solution to the problem is simple:
make LP store price (the isk part) = Market value of base item * arbitrary multiplier (whatever is fair. Currently it seems that it would be about a 10x multiplier, so how about a 5x multiplier instead?)
The only place where this would become an issue is with things like the Machariel, Nightmare, Ashimmu, etc. as there is no base item to compare to. You would have to get creative to apply a solution to that, but the first one that pops to mind for me would be to use the average price for all the faction ships in the same class in place of the market value of base item. So a Machariel or Nightmare for example would be equal to the LP store (ISK) cost of the Napoc + CNR + Navy Mega + Fleetpest + Rattlesnake + Vindicator + Bhaalgorn divided by 7. As these ships are often considered to be superior to even other faction ships in the same class, it might be necessary to multiply this cost by a seperate arbitrary modifier (a lower one, so maybe * 1.5 - 2.5).

Tell them if they lower the lp needed to get ships it will reduce lag, wednesday is the patch day so their is still time. Yeah 20-25mil for navy omens would be sweet.
