I haven't flown a typhoon for a long time, but now that proper fits are better than nanos I figured it was time to start flying it again.
I used to dual rep, but buffer tanks seem to be more important these days. In addition, how have the missle changes affected your high slots?

your correct, buffer is the way to go whatever you fit, you want that target painter
in reply to your question I think the biggest question post QR is, do you now keep sacrifice possible launchers for your nos/neut slots? (as we all know, it used to be hands down that you would drop guns for any nos/neuts you wanted.)
i think its now wise to use the dual 650s or smaller, the dps dif from 800s never was that big of a difference, but with changes tracking is a matter of 'every little bit counts'.
the biggest thing you will get out of your phoon is the drone bay and the mids. the rest is secondary. i wouldn't be suprised to see people fitting undersized guns and other very unconventional fittings on this ship depending on their situations. its the phoon, you can do damn near anything with it. |

The fitting on the phoon really depends on what kind of gang you are in. Solo/small gang/RR gang fits can all be different. Also I agree, it is better to use 650's or 425's on the phoon. |

Edited by: Slash Harnet on 16/11/2008 07:07:11 I usually stick to small gangs, but in eve you never know whats going to happen.
Anyway, I'm guessing the average setup should be something like this:
[Typhoon, phoon] Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Damage Control II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Large 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I Gyrostabilizer II
100MN MicroWarpdrive II Phased Weapon Navigation Array Generation Extron Stasis Webifier II Warp Disruptor II
Dual 425mm AutoCannon II, EMP L Dual 425mm AutoCannon II, EMP L Dual 425mm AutoCannon II, EMP L Dual 425mm AutoCannon II, EMP L Heavy 'Gremlin' Power Core Disruptor I Heavy 'Gremlin' Power Core Disruptor I 'Limos' Cruise Launcher I, Paradise Cruise Missile 'Limos' Cruise Launcher I, Paradise Cruise Missile

Any advise for improvements?

if your not gonna run an injector swap a nuet out for a nos so you can feed off someone else on your overview to pump the nuet |

Odd question... but now that nanos have a velocity modifier like overdrives used to (before the nano-phoon nerf), would it be possible to nano the phoon again?
Just throwing that out there since I loved my phoon and can't get online from work to see what happens ------------

Im looking for decent phoon setup too. Especially im interested in a layout of mids. The ship would be mainly used as support bs with 2x Neuts/RR But after reading this post I have one more concern guns or launchers? To me it looks that DPS from guns is very low compared to launchers. But how does it work in reality?
As for mids I was thinking mwd/web/tp/injector. But id really like to see sensor booster there too maybe? |

I use the following, it is obviously no good unless your in a large gang or you have some serious logistics going on, but i find it fun.
4x 800mm II w/ Hail L 4x Siege II w/ Rage 2x PWNAGE TP's 1x warp Disruptor II 1x Web 3x Gyro II 2x BCU II 1x DCU II 1x 1600mm RT 5x Ogre II 3x Trimarks HG Slave Set |

I've been using a Typhoon for primarily large fleet ops. While just making minimum sniping range (160k), I prefer to use it like a heavy Hac. In that, I mean I try to place myself between the snipers and the enemy fleet or gate put not as close as a Hac would be. So I fit:
(4) 1200 T2's Tremor (or T1 ammo for close range) (4) Heavy missile launchers T2 CN Thunderbolts
MWD/sensor boosters for targeting range and opt. range
Bottom tank and Gyro's
I like it cause you can help out at sniper range and in close when need be. Best part is cheap cost (less than a hac) and with plat. insurance, subsequent ships only cost price of new insurance. Not a DPS king but still a nice ship for the cost conscious. Small gangs/gate camping obiously would want to rearrange things.
