I got into FW early on, but was disappointed & turned off by the massive blobs of clueless carebears. I'd hoped to find a skilled PVP corp, but got fed up and quit.
Recently, I've been thinking of trying to get into it again. I'm hoping that after all the time that's passed, some good FW corps have emerged. I.e., corps with sp requirements, killboard/vent, competent pilots, can field decent sized fleets, etc. I don't care at all about RP... the only thing that matters to me is competency in PVP. While personally I've only got standings for Caldari/Amarr faction, I figured I might as well make this thread for all factions, since I'm sure there are others looking for good corps as well.
So, from those of you experienced in FW, what active corps stand out? What corps consistently field organized and lethal gangs? Have good FCs? Can be on your own side, or those you have fought.

You used to have corps like A Few Good Men, slackers, armada and absinthe brothers consortium, FMI on the Amarr side, but I think only the latter is still active and in FW. You could look them up, it's Battlestar Crusader ingame I think.

Nope, BC and Absinthe left last week. Now the only active Amarr player corp left (in my opinion) to recommend is Gunship Diplomacy. -- Meridius Dex --

Have a look at http://fwstats.eve-ic.net/
it will show you who is the best killing corps out there.
Of course I'm blowing my own corps trumpet (its all they let me blow on the forums), but as Dearg Doom and now Wrath of Fenris were constantly killing in small specialized anti blobbing gangs.
Of course there is the killboards.. http://www.quafeultra.com/killboard/?a=faction_detail&fac_id=5&view=corp_kills
Dearg Doom second top killers of all time in the gallente, Wrath of Fenris, top killers this month in the gallente and by a long way.

CAIN and MENTL have long been the most successful FW corps on the Caldari side. MENTL have since moved on to the Federation side leaving CAIN in the Caldari. There are some other decent-looking corps on the caldari side such as Haiduken and SEROD but I'm not sure whether they are recruiting or not.
I think its kinda sad that even though I've barely played for more than 10h the last 2 weeks I'm still well in the lead of killers in the militias.

Dearg Doom had to change to Wrath of Fenris due to some unfortunate events. I would however classify us as a "good corp" (pretty great actually) and we are not going anywhere...
But TBH today around DT the Caldari were NOWHERE to be seen, at least during euro primetime we still see ok action usually. FW needs some decent rewards for PVP and for carebearing rather quick to gather momentum again. Me, I want the targets more than the LP/ISK. (But it wouldn't hurt ofc) |

Well if factions is kind of more a stepping stone into 0.0 conflict, I would imagine factions could have a hard time staying strong because people are moving on from 'intermediate' corp pvp to 'advanced'. |

Failure at rebalancing/introducing new content on CCP's side mayhap? It's not like people did NOT repeatedly complain about the rather meager rewards of doing FW itself (not the stuff around it). It's not like the "new"/nerfed system capturing mechanics make many people NOT wish you could macro them (Yeah, actually heard some musing about that!). It's NOT like the risk vs. rewards ratio seems a bit wrong in terms of FW missions, FW LP stores and the somewhat questionable gain in standings. It's NOT like a certain dynamic evolution is seen lacking by lots of people. Etc., etc., etc.
So you wonder why "good" corps leave sooner or later or take a break? Quite often corps do use FW to check out for some promising new hands to join them. Don't think it changed so much in the last few weeks. If you manage to make a decent appearance in general militia, sooner or later people will knock at your door. And that is - by itself - not bad at all. With all the things that could be done better in respect to FW. (Hm, gotta change that Sig...)

yes i must stay in fw for some more training in the coming months, but in the future im hoping i will be qualified to fly with the experts out in 0.0 and learn about massive lag/DDD and bubbles first hand.but now im not good enough for the "elite" 0.0

Never thought I'd see the day that I quoted a MENTL and agreed with him 100%. Couldn't be more right, though. It's not better, just different, out in 0.0.
There's one more great Facwar corp now that FOOM is back in town, btw. ;) See you soon I hope, CAIN. :)

A Few Good Men split and went several ways after Blunter decided to take a break from EVE. Half are now out in 0.0 with DR and the other half are in The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and are happily dishing out small fast gang PvP in Amarr FW space just the same as before. TDRS doesn't run public gangs though, because we find that having a blob of noobs hanging on our coat-tails is counterproductive.
Slackers, after causing all manner of infighting and trouble inside Amarr FW, made the right choice and moved themselves off to pastures new. We have, however, seen them back in FW space aiding and killing their old allies in even measures.
Absinthe Brothers did stirling work giving the FW masses something to do but have now moved on to new things.
I haven't seen anything from Armada and Wrathstorm since they dropped out of running open FW gangs a long time ago, I expect they've moved on too.
Gunship Deplomacy are a decent, active corp that are probably worth looking up.

i've been in the Amarr FW since day one, witnessing it with this account and continuing with an even more meaningless account after that.
The honest history of the amarr militia just includes:
- Amarr Militia being heavily pummelled by a core outbreak gang at the very start... - some *lazy slackers' keeping the minmatar mob at bay as long as outbreak was amusing them. - Slackers being bored after outbreak left and being accused of causing trouble and thus leaving - plus being called hostile for flimsy reasons lying back years. - Armada, the foremost Amarr Militia fleet being set on red for assisting a fellow Amarr corp (slackers) in being atacked by a bunch of pirates (CVA)for slackers defending an Amarr empire fleet vs a bunch of transsexuals (CVA). - Afew were and allways will be a minmatar fleetop started up by their main slave (whose names I don't remember and noone with a brain ever gave a **** about) or blunter and his herd of slaves... - After those foremost corps in helping the amarr cause - ironically being removed from Amarr FW by the main Amarr FW alliance (CVA - nowadays one has to add this, as they obnviously are the most hostile force towards anarr... - Slackers moved to 0.0 with their leadership breaking up and being harassed by CVA. - Armada hleped their fleet mates from slackers when being atacked by CVA pirates and got KOS for it. - They (AMDA and their FMI pets) feft for lower stain or some **** like that so with their - Shortly after, absinthe brothers was set to red by soe CVA pet and shortly after by CVA themsellves for no reason at all - probably some religious-pervert idea of sicko-fun.
So basically, If you are sympathetic to the amarr cause, join minmatar, as you'll be more likely support the empress than on the amarr side - because all you'll get for it is being hunted down by them for no reason at all...

Story from the other side was some of their corp members went to providence and started shooting neutrals. Unless there's proof that this didn't happen, the CVA has always made it clear that this is how they react to acts of wanton aggression in their space.

It's true, the Amarr side is in such a mess that despite us being outnumbered the last eight system captures have all been in our favour.

Carebears cry for more rewards, that there's too many pirates and that there's no point to plexing.
RP-bears cry for more in-game effect of plexing.

Edited by: BattleStar Crusader on 26/11/2008 17:58:22 For the matter scagga none of my corp mates attacked nuetrals in providense and alot severence members and the CVA contact i had, had no problem with taking me and the corp of KOS, becuase we simply hadnt done anything wrong. It was one stubborn idiot in severence who tries to run a democracy where only he has the say, stopping my corp from aiding the amarr milita any more. And the incedent that cuased him to do this happned a long time ago before the corp was even created. Cva and some of severence are very decent people its just the main leader (no names mentioned) that has turned tyranical. When the corp was not KOS and simply nuetral severence engage two of my corp mates jumping to sev space, so they contradcited the rules set down by the alliance holding the leash to severence.

Caldari FW militia appears to be mostly dead.
When they do show up, its in a huge blob or in a carrier 0m off station smack talking in local. To be fair, there are a few braver ones that come out in small packs (I salute you rare noble squid).
The federation has been putting the hurt to them and what else would you expect.
CCP petition change Caldari to Faildari plz ty.

Caldari FW dont use any carrier, not on any op ive seen in my last 5 months here, go and ask the frogs, namely tropic9 and his infamous dock tactics in tama with his froggy carrier
My favourite FW corp has to be the Wolves of Fenris, yes they fight for the frogs but they are damn good at it, always give me my pvp fix and never shy about a good fight. Sadly caldari corps dont exist anymore, great irony since that was caldari is, just a bunch of ****in corps...

Thanks for the mention, we certainly try in Wrath of Fenris/ WOLFY... With the invaluable help from Azure and other likeminded corps, mind you.
About squid carriers, the Archon we popped at Tama station sure was a Squid one... Also, back when STEEL were in the squids they had lotsa ceptor/fighter fun in Tama... Still do I think, "outside" of FW.

So, that Caldari Carrier almost permanently parked at the Moon 19 Station in Heydieles with the Pilot always calling to any Gallente Pilot who enters system to come down and face him in a "One on One" (with his mates being inside the station just waiting for someone crazy enough to aggress) is just a figment of our imagination then?
