Basicly what has happened is the devs have nerfed the market.
Look lets say you're going to buy a car, milk or bottle of water. There's no pop up that opens up magicly in your line of vison that says wooo there nelly you're about to pay more then the average price.
No!!!!! its buyer beware!!!! you've nerfed the market effectivly making it impossible to over charge for items. Just cuz billy bob and his sister/mother are to stupid to do a lil research before making a purchase i can no longer charge a price I feel like charging instead i now have to charge what the guy nextdoor set as a low bid then dingle berry in next system also goes lower before you know it Im broke and the stupid country hick who cant investigate crap on his own now has a pop up telling him to think about it before he buys. WTF is that???? RANT OVER TILL THE NEXT TIME I OPEN THESE DANG FORUMS
PS VOODOO <----- HAS ENTERED THE SYSTEM TO KILL YOU!!! RUN AND HIDE LIL GIRLS wtf is that stupid warning I mean FFS!!!!!!!!!
O BTW is the tutorial finished yet??? wtf is that patch notes lol still working on the tutorial FFS
PSS I wonder which mod will once again over step there bounds and lock, move- delete my post

Agreed, the warning needs a change. It SHOULD warn when you try to buy stuff worth 100k for 1 million, but not for 110k!

You should change your sig to read:
Dam headphones, mix up the screamin demons in my head
And no, my sig is just fine, thanks.

Have to admit its rather silly. If people cant research what is worth then they shouldnt buy it. Of course if you go to the store and that gallon of milk rings up as $100 dollars, well you can just put it back.
Guess I talked myself out of supporting your argument.

Agreed, a simple modification to the formula would do. If selling price = 25%+ above avg then warn.
The same should be true of sellers when setting sell price if below mkt average or high.

Hehe, you call this a nerf? Meaning you can no longer rip people off? Someone once bought a single piece of isogen from me for 5 million isk, I talked to him and paid him back. Hope these things can be avoided as I doubt many people would pay back. Note: My sell order was at 65, he typed in 5 million for some reason and then paid that price. This a bug in the market system, he should have got my isogen for 65, no matter what he types in. Essentially ist a 'quick buy' if you put in a higher price than the ask. |

Am I mistaken or the warning has been in place for several months already? If so, I don't understand why the rant now...

But in RL you not looking at some price that is 1 pixel high with questionable contrast at 330 am!
Also - In RL if you buying milk at the store, the person would announce (verbally to you) - "That will be One Million Dollars", you would punch them in the neck, not slide you card and go "DOH!" 30 seconds later... -- Thread Killer

Actually i think you made my point all the more clearer. The item "rings up the price" when you pull the item up in the market it clearly states the price. no need for another warning at all, ever. once you click accept maybe a window pops up and says "you sure you want to proceed with the transaction" player presses "yes" and thats it item purchased. Not a window that says "dude dont buy this one its over priced" goto billy bobs down the road a ways.
come on serious look I know lots disagree and some may flame but well blah blah blah....
ps seems like I refer to billy bob alot, just who is this billy bob guy he may hold the answers.

Its what the advanced market info is for, so you can find a better price .... maybe this should be included in the tutorial, I don't remember if it is??
The warning that you are buying for 1 isk more than the average is silly, Its game driven by economy, and there has to be a form of competition and a sense of producer profit, otherwise the market is a dead fish --------------------------------------------- I'm the root of all thats evil yeah, but you can call me Cooki3
Some people couldn't get a clue, if they were in the middle of a clue field, in the middle of clue mating season, doused in clue pheromones, in a clue suit, shouting "Clooo! Clooo!" whilst beating themselves with a clue stick |

But you've missed the whole point of the change. The real goal was to create a variable that the Eve folks could arbitrarily set with the long term goal of driving the price of a product to what they feel the price of the comodity should be. It's really all just one big conspiracy to fix the prices in the market.

w00t finally 2mil interceptors!!
Seriously this is an over nerf beyond belief, they should only warn you when your 500% above price, otherwise there is going to be no such thing as a player driven market anymore. ................. |

The price I see it use the market average, not the item cost. Look at scourge missiles in yulai. Go build some for yourself and see how much it costs you. Then try and sell it for 200% of your mineral cost to make it. You get a pop-up when you do, you want to know it what it says.....
"Warning!!! You are trying to sell this item for XX isk which is UNDER the average price of XX isk."
Trust me, they are not generating those pop-ups by actual cost, but rather average market value. NPC prices will have an effect on the average price, but then those that try to scam people by selling those shuttles for 1mil, 10mil, or even 100+ mil are doing nothing but making that average rise a little but. I am pretty sure it is a weighted average though so it 2000 items are on market for 100isk and 2 items are on market for 100000isk the average price is going to be a lot closer to the 100isk mark than the 100000isk mark.
