I don't know if this has come and gone on a regular bases, but seeing as topics shift so quickly through this area, and how ideas come and go in a day, I would like to see the support for this.
Simple Paint Designing.
Who would like their own ship in perhaps basic colour designs of their personal choice?
I don't know how many have really been bothered to stop and admire how beautiful a Serpentis Thorax looks like, but it's one of the main reasons I play this game: ENVY.
Why do they get such cool colour designs? Not that I don't mind my Minmatar rust effect, but the black with yellow-green lights is definately cool. Though, I would pick a bright blue instead.
I really pity the Caldari colour schemes, after recently looking at my blackbirds grey.

What would happen to the customization when your ship changes ownership? Should it be gone like insurance or stay?

The ship colour feature was available in beta (I'm told).
I dont think it will be implemented for some time if at all.
Last I heard it was on the Dev teams 'wish list' with no real plans for implementation in the forseeable future, in otherwords when they get time.
Theres other more informed threads somewhere on here, hope it helps.

They won't implement ship painting because then CCP would have to stop being lazy with new ship classes (Interceptors and Covert Frigs etc). They'd actually have to design new ships instead of re painting old models..
and yes i'm well aware of the new designs for other ships such as battle cruisers etc b4 anyone feels the need to point them out..

Then go out and kill them. I think we should have a choice in how are ship looks regardless. Forked out enough money for some of them...

What the hell is wrong with that?! 
Have certian stations charge 250,000 ISK for a cruiser paint job; 1 mil for a BS, etc... Then charge a little extra for your corp logo on the ship. At the least I wish we could do the logos.

Have certian stations charge 250,000 ISK for a cruiser paint job; 1 mil for a BS, etc... Then charge a little extra for your corp logo on the ship. At the least I wish we could do the logos.

Or maybe have a "senority feature" where when someone is a one year veteran of EVE they could get a "silver slash" on the ship somewhere, at two years a "golden slash" (like a stripe) somewhere. Any ship they fly. It would denote a veteran player. Beta players could have the "platinum slash" or some special logo.
That way there isn't that much additional coding to do, they could control somewhat the looks of the ship, and veteran players get something neat.

Well a corp logo would be nice on the side of a ship. How hard can that be to set in? (I dont know Im not a programmer).
Or maybe have a "senority feature" where when someone is a one year veteran of EVE they could get a "silver slash" on the ship somewhere, at two years a "golden slash" (like a stripe) somewhere. Any ship they fly. It would denote a veteran player. Beta players could have the "platinum slash" or some special logo.
That way there isn't that much additional coding to do, they could control somewhat the looks of the ship, and veteran players get something neat.

A fully black raven with green lights would be a scary sight. Plus you could pimp out a Dominix since its already so ugly why not just go for it, pink, with gold trim?

It would be cool to have a paint shop as another form of station facility methinks, maybe one that could only be constructed with the advent of player owned stations.

No way purple, with pink swirls, and maybe a yellow flower or three...
But a thrax would look kinda neat in a Blood red, or a Neon Green... Make it into a sportscar...
