I have a Thorax with rail + blast fitted, I know nubby build , what is the best build i can do for my thorax? just dmg output mods + blasters?
Also I want to get a BS, I am thinking about the Megatron, what is the best build for pvp with that?

small gangs/solo = blasters larger gangs = rails
if you want a dedicated af/frig pwning thing, I'd recommend rails.
Megathron is best known as a blasterthron, if you go to the ships and modules forums theres a sticky there with all the most common setups etc. Same goes for the thorax. |

A setup I use for a Blastrax is...
[Thorax, Gank PVP] 800mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
10MN MicroWarpdrive I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator J5b Phased Prototype Warp Inhibitor I
Heavy Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge M Heavy Electron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge M
[empty rig slot] [empty rig slot] [empty rig slot]
Hammerhead II x5
It can be changed a bit, I think some people drop two electrons for Ions but I just haven't bothered with that. ECM Drones are preferred for Solo if you can use them. That's the Vespa-EC's.

If you choose PVP and do not concentrate on PVE, skip BS completely. Go Frigs - Cruisers - Assault Frigs - HACs. You'll get much more fun at PVP this way, trust me.

I thought BS's were good for pvp, or is that mass pvp, like fleet v fleet?

there is no question that BSs are good for pvp (even out of large fleet fights) but small gang pvp, typicly you want to be able to move fast and get out of trouble if something too large comes your way.
Also look at the type of mods you have been training for, so far you've probably been doing mostly frig and cruiser skills. For BS sized weapons and defenses you need more much SP intensive skills.
Also BSs are much more expensive and unless you get really luckey and find some n00b ratters, your not going to kill very much at the begining. Besides flying HACs and interceptors is some of the best fun you can have. |

Battleships are a great deal cheaper to loose then hacs because of insurance, as well as remoterep battelships beat any equal smaller ship gang.
A rr bs requires proper skills to to be used, flying cruisers and battlecruisers is a good stepping stone and the skills you need for them will come in handy throughout your whole eve career.
Youll find that a thorax is a pretty good ship for its price, the brutix is a good upgrade as well. training drones as well so you can use the vexor and myrmidon would be a good thing as theyre atleast as strong and useful as their rail brothers.
Train the skills for t2 medium guns and drones, as well as the mods you need for cruisers and bcs and then go for hacs, battlecruisers and hacs make it easy to rat but wont cut lvl4 missions afaik.
After that id get battleship skills done.
To make the best use of your skillpoints id stick to gallente but spread the sp over several shipclasses to be able to use most of eves content and dont get ****ed over by a nerf.

Keep in mind that T1 cruisers aren't really good at tanking (in most cases).. as a result, you'll have more fun if you fit for DPS and die repeatedly in a blaze of glory.. besides, T1 ships get platinum insurance so you won't lose much in the process.
Grab your ship, get in fleet.. Eve is a party and PvP'ers just party harder. |
