missus wants a new mouse for christmas. Anyone got some good suggestions, she has a saitek atm but it's a bit to big and makes her wrist hurt after a while. So i'm looking for something a bit more streamlined. |

Ive heard good things about Razer products. My friend has a Razer Copperhead and it feels pretty nice. My only gripe is the fact that its so easy to accidentally hit the dpi adjustment buttons on the side while mid-game, which can get really annoying. Besides that its pretty good. Granted, I play games with a wireless laptop mouse which is extremely small, but I think you can get used to whatever mouse you use after a while. |

Here's one that will never strain her wrist. A wireless mouse that doesn't even need batteries. -- There's a simple difference between kinky and perverted. Kinky is using a feather to get her in the mood. Perverted is using the whole chicken. All this has happened before and will happen again |

Get a decent Logitech, essentially they come in 2 varieties; 2 button+extras, 3 button+extras. Personally I like the 3 button one (thumb button) since you can trigger Vent/TS with it, or 'use' or whatever. But they ARE for right hand only and can be a bit large is someone has small hands.
They're high quality stuff, but I wouldn't get a wireless and there's no need to get a laser version either.

My bro convinced the parents to buy a razer lachiesis gaming mouse and razer tarantula keyboard because our wireless ones were showing their age and being unresponsive at the best of times. Although saying that the razer stuff is quite sexy, bit too expensive for my liking though

+1 to the Razer Lachesis
Also if it makes her wrist hurt you may want to consider getting a mousemat with a wrist support.
Razer also make one of them so i again recommend that.
Before i get called a Razer fanboi, trust me I'm not they make crappy headphones (Barracuda), actually I'm not sure they really make them cause i got through 3 pairs in as many weeks due to faults and missing parts.

QFT, epic mouse. The scroll wheel can even free spin if you set it up right, which can help with fast scrolling or mitigating boredom. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

I also have this one. Also, the MX-510 is a cheaper version of 518, the only mentionable function the 510 lacks is the DPI setting (can be controlled by two small buttons on the 518 near the middle button. One with a + sign and one witha a - sign). Aside from that, there isn't much difference IMHO. Comes handy when you need to target with a sniper rifle --------------------------------------------- Unclouded by conscience, remorse or delusions of morality. |

Edited by: Darth Skorpius on 17/11/2008 21:46:58 i myself own a razer copperhead. i love it as i am left handed aqnd wanted some extra buttons for push to talk when gaming and none of the othe gaming mice i looked at other than the razer ones could be used with the left hand as they were all right handed mouse.
to the poster that said it was easy to hit the dpi switching buttons mid game, do what i did and put them on the the opposit side to the thumb then use the 2 thumb buttons for push to talk. you can also set up multiple profiles, i have 2 of them set up for my mouse, one for me )lefthanded config) and one for others (righthanded config) they are identical execpt for the side button settings which are swapped to the other side of the mouse for the lefthanded config.
i havent had a chance to try the lachesis yet, but from what ive seen, and heard from friends, it is really good.
+1 for razer coperhead or lachesis

frankly get her a high quality mouse that fits her hand / usage style i.e. palming or fingertipping im guessing he rests her palm on the mousepad and moves the mouse with her fingertips
so you'd want something light and glidey and for the mouse surface something more in the dirrection of those good old foamey rubber mousepads or one of them wrist supporting things if she likes that
palmers on the other hand usualy want something perfectly fitting into their hand with something slightly on the heavy side but with a more slick n solid surface
on the other hand i might be completly and utterly wrong and you should be asking her and once you got the requirements go out and buy the coresponding logitech model |

And so is the VX Nano/Revolution range. Smaller mouse, same stuff (mostly). The free spin wheel is simply superb. Weight, usability, feel.
Just great. I have a VX Rev and I love it. |

If that's still being sold (but I doubt it) then yes, guess what I have. Tbh, any MX500 series is good.
On the free spinning mousewheel thingy; it's annoying, M$ started doing it a long time ago and while it works fine in windows stuff it's #$@%#%$ in games, how are you going to change weapons reliably if your mousewheel doesn't have controlled rotation? |

Logitech G5 mouse, bit more expensive than the MX518, but much easier to get hold of. Very nice weight to it (and adjustable too thanks to a small tray with weights in the bottom) and programmable buttons.

now we are talking about computer mouses i wanted to know if there is a good big one? I have long fingers (hell i needed to beat off pianno lessons:P) so my finger rest on the mouse but the rest of my hand is gliding on the table which is kinda anoying. |

This tbh.
I hear they recently upgraded the sensor too.
Definitely would not go for a cordless laser mouse.
