It's messed up. Small ships agility is far too high now. I just missed a caracal in a dual sensor boosted onyx, didn't even get a lock before it warped. It's madness. |

seriously. what's your scan res? double booster on an onyx is like (memory here) 240 * 1.6 * 1.6, so like 600ish. a properly fit (nanos, inertia stab) cruiser can beat that on a good jump landing.
work towards 1000+ scan res if you want guaranteed tackle, though since you didn't mention bubbles you're probably low sec that might lead to issues with your locker getting gate gun popped.
if it's a high sec war you'll be ok though.

EDIT: and you're also fairly guaranteed that caracals don't plate... --

yes now we just need 4 ppl to even have a chance at catching someting... 1x hic/stiletto + remote booster ship on one side of the gate, then we still need the same on other side of gate because target will run back to gate :P --------

I think the patch is fine. The numbers off our Killboards are showing a drastic growth in mixed fleets, and the inclusion of ships like cruisers and AF's where there were once only BS and BC.

Well given that neither of the ships you mention appear to have been altered according to the patch notes (except to base speed, which shouldn't effect locking time), perhaps you'd like to elaborate on which module changes you feel have made this happen as opposed to just having happened regardless of the changes.
This would help because I'm struggling to see a module change which would even account for this. Perhaps they would have escaped regardless of the new changes. Dae.

Agreeing with this post. In fact, all ships warp off too fast now.
I would've liked +25% scan resolution to all ships pre-patch, but now it is really needed to compensate for the massive agility boost ships received. --

edit: made a post based on pre-QR Caracal, nvm. Was gonna say the guy probably either had I-stabs or spawned in the system already aligned in the direction he was going to be warping in.

Prepare to eat your words.
Pre-patch carcal: 13,750,000 kg mass .4 inertia 187 m/s
Post-patch caracal: 12,910,000 kg mass .295 inertia 178 m/s
You are look at that caracal warping out a good 1.5-2.5 seconds faster than it used to. A sensor booster HIC should lock a caracal in under 2 seconds but because of lag and the dreaded bug "Sorry, we know your point is hot and ready to point but it decided not to fire this time" the time to tackle a ship becomes very, very small.
Fights (whether they be fair or not) should not be getting harder to achieve. For a patch designed so ships do not just nano away without fighting, it is strange that a lot of ships are given free nano mode to escape. --

The mass reductions and such are to make afterburners more useful. The agility adjustments are to augment the slower unboosted speeds. I'm going to continue keeping my fingers in my ears while repeating in my mind the phrase "CCP didn't really intend to make it harder to tackle people at gates."
Just my take on this subject or something I dunno |

Me too, but the brain dead shockingly ******ed region gates at 0.0 entrances are still in the game. With the amount of cloakers, loggers, alts and cloaking logging alts you need to have the entire gate bubbled to have a shot at a lot of targets. Don't forget how easy it is to just re-approach the gate while webbed.
I bet if you data-mined all the combat in EVE, the majority would be on gates, seconded by on a POS and then in belts/missions. Nerfing one of the biggest sources of pvp in a pvp game.......cannot be good for the game.
I'd love to not gate gank noobs and stuff and do something more substantial, but what else do you want me to do with a gang of under 10 pilots? Siege a POS? Knock out station services? Targets for small gangs were promised in some Revelations expansion and not delivered. Forcing players to bring more tacklers and more ships and bigger blobs is not the way I would prefer to see EVE go. |

I agree with the OP, but I think he should rename the ambiguous thread title.
Had the joy of chasing an Abaddon several jumps in an Interceptor - wasn't able to even start to lock him or decloak him while he was utilizing the cloak + mwd trick.
I initially thought this was a ridiculous state of affairs....an Interceptor incable of locking a tier 3 battleship...however Faife has sorted me out with his expert knowledge. I now realise that what I should do is carry 3 sensor boosters - won't need web, mwd or scram - and a couple of alts to remote sensor boost me to snare a Battleship while reeling off countless god damn annoying memes in local that make me look like generic teen clone #1,023,389. Dats how da pr0s r doin' it.

Yeah because luckily armor tankers dont need to sacrifice tank for damage mods and just dont have enough mids to fit much tackle and electronics stuff.
It apparently it was a gang (ganking lone caracal with gang, that must be what eve is about), let others remote sensor boost it or remote shield rep it. |

Gang bonuses? I believe the primary one for leadership is 2% to targetting speed per level.
