I feel it's about time to leave the BC to rest. Having been flying about in it for the last few months and being happy with it; only recently, since being able to do lvl 4 missions, I see the need to upgrade to a BS.
Ideally I'd want to get a Gal BS, to show some support for my people. Thing is, I was all set for getting the Megathron, the plan is in EVEMON, it's all good to go, but now I'm wondering whether it's the right choice. I've been reliably informed that the Dominix is a good choice for 0.0 ratting. Then again there's the Hyperion...
Furthermore, what set up should I be looking at for each of these?

if you've been flying a myrm, get a domi, if you've been flying a brutix, get a mega.

It sounds like you are talking about a battleship for PvE. Generally, the Dominix is considered the best Gallente PvE battleship if not one of the best battleships in the game for PvE.
Ratting/Missioning (I'm not an expert, just making this up off the top of my head):
Lows:
4x Rat Specific Armor Hardeners
2x Large Armor Repairer
1x Damage Control
Mids:
1x Afterburner
4x Cap Rechargers
Highs:
Salvagers/Tractor Beams

The Domi is one of the most common Lvl 4 mission runners. Fit salvage gear in the highs and use heavy/medium/light drones to do all the work. Fit a good armour tank and off you go. Easy peasy! I normally read (Eve The Empyrean age novel  ) whilst doing lvl 4s, and sometimes salvage along the wayif i can be bothered to collect it.
On the otherhand if you wanna 'be' in the battle, then I would recomend a Mega, and salvage later if thats your bag.
Either way fly safe and have fun!

Nah, go for the 350mm / omnidirectional tracking link-boosted sentry gank Domi.

If you're an apt ratter, all you need is two hardeners and a rep, atleast T2, which is plenty to get you through even the nastiest spawns. I can't say much about missions, I've yet to actually try a real lvl4.

It depends on what skills you have.. If you Have Heavy Drone Skill Set then the Domi would be a could path ( The one i took ) but if you have Gunnery Skills then a domi will not be as good as a Mega or Hype. Prob a Good Gage for it..( not exact but a good gage) Gunnery Skill points vs Drone Skill points which ever is higher is the better for the ship..
As it was pointed out the Domi is about the lazyest lvl 4 Battleship there is.

Get the Domi and an Arazu ...
Max those configs out ... then on to Thanatos

Get the Mega/Hyperion and a Deimos ...
Max the guns out ... then on to Moros ;)

Don't bother with T2 frigs/etc. The Arazu is way better for cov-ops then all the T2 frigs. Interceptors are cute, but the cov-ops cloak, plus some reasonable DPS and drone bay, + scramming at 43km is waaay less useful than an interceptors speed.
Although, interceptors are nice if you want to annoy people and don't mind setting up lots 330km off target jump spots.

Train for t2 sentries, t2 heavy drones and get a domi. It is the most versatile ship in the game.
You can Mine,Rat,Mission,RR,Roam,Solo etc. fairly easily. A bit low on PG so sniping setups are hard to fit if you want to hit to 200km. A very good deal for a tier 1 battleship.

Actually I've been in a Drake up til now, only because when I first started, was told that was the best BC to go for.
I have no complaints with it, been very good to me; but in hindsight, probably should have stayed gal from the get go. But hey, live and learn.
Due to the fact that I have been in a missile dependent ship, obviously my gunnery skills are awful (maybe 50k skills) as opposed to drones (800k) so the domi would be the obvious choice, but I just thought I'd get a little more feedback before commiting.

Dont waste yer time wit the Hype &, dont bother wit Mega till u got at least BS lvl4 & all gunnery skills up ta 4 aswell. The BEST BS in game now in my opinion is the Domi.. & dont forget to train up Sentry drones! |

i know this is kinda not the idea of your thread, but if you have medium missile skills . . . go for the Raven or the Nighthawk; theyre almost as good as the Domi with less of a cross train |

Also keep in mind that you can shield-tank a Dominix pretty decently, though it won't be as good as a armor-tanked one. That might help you get started, though, since you've been flying a drake and presumably have decent shield skills.

Domi for any new BS pilot
its a very forgiving ship IMO
was my first BS and I still love the space turd to this day. |

Any will do just fine for ratting but the domi is able to project strong dps into medium ranges better than the others which makes it strong for pve all things being equal.
Of course if you're loaded with turret skills and weak on drones the mega will work better. |
